Ned Ludd typifies the Portland brunch experience, right down to the Kerr sealed glass cups (don't Portlanders ever worry about dropping and breaking the glass cups?). The emphasis is on locally produced vegetables and light breakfast dishes that won't make you feel guilty in a gluttonous way. They also take reservations, which is almost unheard of in Portland (at least for places with limited seating). Plus, the bathroom is really nicely decorated with rustic Pacific Northwestern motifs. They make their own charcuterie here, very well by the way. We came here for lunch/brunch and the food was outstanding. The duck bacon was outstanding (but more cured than fried up so I think duck prosciutto would have described it better). The vegetable hash was earthy and hearty, including brussell sprouts. And now I want the recipe for the apple spice muffin. Service was excellent also.
