Neptune Oyster

Best way to go here is to eat as party of one. You will be seated right away. If you show up as party of two then expect an average of an hour wait. They will call you via phone. Their oysters were good but not impressive enough for me to pay more. Their Lobster was amazing... Pricey... But amazing. ...

It just doesn't get more historic than this. The Omni Parker House (originally called Parker's) pioneered the idea of the luxury hotel and restaurant in an era when sleeping on the road often meant sharing a bed with a stranger at a tavern. Try the Boston Creme Pie; it was invented here. Walk right out the door into historic downtown ...

I enjoyed my stay at the Royal Sonesta. The room was nice, safe, and comfortable and hotel staff couldn't have been nicer. the meeting room for my class was equally pleasant. I also appreciated the walking proximity to "The T", the nice walk (and view) along the Charles River, and convenient access to other Boston/Cambridge sights.

The Liberty is a destination for tourists and locals alike, with one of the most active bar scenes I've come across in a hotel. Every Thursday there's a fashion show, with models floating up on escalators like 1930s era synchronized swimmers emerging from a tower of water. A glass of champagne and warm, personal welcome greeted me on arrival, and ...

The W Boston has all the predictable features of a W hotel, and I had a really good time when I stayed here a few years ago. It had a fun vibe, young, boutique vibe and it really made me feel like I was getting unique and personalized service (which I was)! This is definitely a good location in Downtown, ...

Nice hotel. Good location. The restaurant put up a good bit of grub as well - a bit expensive but good. I would stay here again.

In a brief visit to the XV Boston, I was really impressed by the style, understated elegance, and friendliness of this little boutique hotel. I've spent most of my time in Europe over the last few years and so have had limited contact with American hotels, but this one made me proud to be a Yank.

The harbor view rooms are very nice and allow you to take in the entire waterfront, not just the canal. The architecture of the hotel itself is worth at least a few pictures, both outside and in. Everything feels wonderfully stately and old-fashioned, from the wooden dressers to the paintings on the walls. There’s a floating stage that has live ...

If you're looking for a decently-priced hotel with water views, look no further than the fairmont battery wharf. We had a room that overlooked the harbor and I personally loved watching all the cargo ships come in and out of the harbor. The room itself was well equipped and had a modern feel to it. Its a fairmont, so in ...

I don't think I've ever come to a city to give out so many five star reviews as I have for Boston. Despite it's high price tag on its own website, the Ames Hotel is quite reasonably booked through Orbitz or other travel sites to find deals. My friends have even had great luck on priceline by naming their own ...

The Hyatt is conveniently located within a couple of blocks off the red and orange train lines and maybe 4 blocks from the green train line. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’d only visited this place once before when I was much younger, and I feel like it’s changed considerably since then. For one, there’s a recently opened bar and lounge, the Avery, and a general sense of sleek modernity in the smooth marble walls and muted tones. The lobby may not have actually been larger in the old days but ...

This great hostel located in the Back Bay area near Fenway Park was my first ever experience in a hostel. My visit came at the start of a monthlong backpacking trip down the East Coast. I visited this Holiday Inn while it was being renovated so I can’t comment on what it is so much as what it will be, but there are good omens for the future here. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that the price of a room is a bit high for this sort of place. Rooms are all sizable and ...

I couldn’t believe this place was a hostel. Well, besides the young crowd, hip environment, and encouragement of traveling culture, yes I could. But Hostelling International’s newest location in Boston is truly a sight to see. It’s hip, it’s urban, and most importantly, it’s cheap for youthful travelers. Not only is breakfast free, but also so are their provided activities ...

As I approached the Boxer Hotel, located on a less-than picturesque street around the corner from the TD Garden, I mentally prepared myself for musty fumes, faded old carpets and grumpy staff. But I couldn't have been more off. The lobby of the Boxer was clean, airy and modern, and the staff was wonderful. And maybe I’m kidding myself here, ...
