- New Orleans Cajun Po-BoyFirst to ReviewJul 05, 2012
I picked up an old friend from the bus station and of course, lunch is on the agenda :) I asked Siri to find us a Cajun Restaurant in the area and she suggested this place. Inside it looks like a middle school cafeteria, but the spicy smell of Cajun is abound. I was very excited to see stewed oxtail on the hot food line, along with Salisbury Steak with gravy, blackened fish and a plethora of southern style veggies: collard greens, corn, green beans, etc. we opted for the blackened fish with rice and green beans, a bowl of seafood gumbo each and a crawfish étouffée and home made corn bread! The fish could have been more blackened for my taste, but the gumbo and étouffée hit the spot! Ray (I assume he was the owner/manager) was very nice; he informed me that they had only been open for 7 months...I think New Orleans Cajun PoBoy has potential! Wish it wasn't so expensive but considering it was downtown, that can be forgiven.
