    The Waldorf Astoria

    The Waldorf Astoria

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    36 reviews

This hotel is one of my favorites in NY. If you cannot afford to stay , grab a drink in the lobby bar. If you are fortunate to spend a night or two, check into a newly renovated suite on an upper floor. The bed is heavenly. It's a classic!

W hotel in New York is nice. There are a few around but I recommend the one at Time Square. We stayed just around the corner and had drinks at the trendy little bar/lounge with music inside.

    Soho House New York

    Soho House New York

    Hotel Class:

Soho House is definitely a scene. A great place to have drinks, hang out, or join a special event (e.g., book signing, moving screening, etc.). The people watching here is great. Larger and less intimate than some of NY's other private clubs. Soho House feels a bit more commercial. The food is fine but definitely nothing special.

I enjoyed my stay at the Soho Grand. Though a bit past its prime, the property is still very hip. The public spaces are attractive and well maintained just like the people who stay here. The Soho Grand delivers good design and ambience. In comparison to many boutique properties, the service at the Soho Grand is friendly. Service is slower ...

Reasons why the Four Seasons NYC is on my favorite list: the central location to EVERYTHING, the restaurants, the service, and the amenities. Rooms are comfortable and plush. The real reason why everything is great here is its beautiful design. There is something about walking into a lobby that is itself a work of art. The entire building IS a ...

Definitely the place to stay if you want to be in the hip center of Manhattan's meat packing district. Views are stellar, as is the rooftop bar. Book early if you want to stay during busy times, especially Fashion Week.

Most of my experience of this mid-town location of the W has been related to visits to the branch of Bliss located inside the hotel. The lobby bar is always hopping after-work and a lot of businesspeople come here for a bite to eat, or for a drink at the bar, before they board their commuter trains, departing from nearby ...

The Westin New York at Times Square

One of the nicer Westins in New York City. The Starwood group bought a bunch of hotels and remodeled them into Westins and Ws. This one has slightly bigger rooms, and is RIGHT in the middle of Time Square so if you are here for NYE or show watching, it's the perfect choice. If I was still with a Platinum ...

This place is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly and responsive. The only downside to this hotel is that it's in a very quiet area. But that can be a very good thing when you've had a long day and need to pass out.

If you are in town for leisure then stay out of midtown! The Hotel on Rivington (THOR) is located right in the middle of the lower east side, one of the last bastions of typical Manhattan diversity. The restaurant is very good and the rooms have views to die for.

Used to LOVE this place about a decade ago. Not so much now...based on opportunity cost alone, if you're in Manhattan you can do so much better for your money -- be your tastes modern or old school, which is why I give it 3-stars. (I.e., were it not for all the choices of places to stay in NY, I ...

This hotel is across from Lincoln Center and a major "Fashionista" hang out! Having just been in NYC for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I found myself spending a lot of time here. Great location and proximity to LC is the reason to stay here. The rooms are small, modern and OK. The staff is efficient but not overly helpful.

I like this hotel because it is small, cozy and private. I like the location as well. 4 to 5 blocks from Grand Central. The complimentary buffet is great! Skip the over priced Asia de Cuba restaurant...it has seen better days and not worth the money.
