Good! - 79% of guests recommend

It's hard to believe that, in the mid-fifties, Marilyn Monroe once lived for two months in the Waldorf-Astoria, but had to move out because she couldn't afford this hotel. This happened at the time she was starting her own company, "Marilyn Monroe Productions" and was just getting it off the ground.

The Plaza hotel is a National Historic Landmark right at the southern edge of Central Park. It openned it's doors in 1907, and closed during the early part of this century for $400 million in renovations and repairs. It's another one of those must sees while in the Big Apple.

In general, I love the W or the Westin chain of hotels and having had a wonderful time at the Westin Time Square, I expected this to be no different. Of course, I'm always weary when the hotel structure is not exactly like grand lobby on the first floor, bar, maybe some nice ceiling lights, etc. But in New York ...

Reasons why the Four Seasons NYC is on my favorite list: the central location to EVERYTHING, the restaurants, the service, and the amenities. Rooms are comfortable and plush. The real reason why everything is great here is its beautiful design. There is something about walking into a lobby that is itself a work of art. The entire building IS a ...

Great location and great rooms. We stayed here twice in the past 2 years and we have had beautiful rooms in a prime location while visiting NYC. Where the very first bloody mary was created (in the old king cole bar) as the legend goes, St. Regis NYC IS legendary in its own rite. Walking inside is stepping into a time tunnel and be transported into the heyday of when money could buy what isn't possible today. When steel magnates, oil barons, financiers ran the world! I stayed here just after the place first opened and it was a breath of fresh air, in an otherwise staid hotel industry, at the time. It is hard not to like The Pierre. The hotel is a fabulously restored tribute to old New York. The lobby, elevators, and rooms are stunning. This hotel is across from Lincoln Center and a major "Fashionista" hang out! Having just been in NYC for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week I found myself spending a lot of time here. Great location and proximity to LC is the reason to stay here. The rooms are small, modern and OK. The staff is efficient but not overly helpful.
