    Gramercy Park Hotel

    Gramercy Park Hotel

    Class:
    10 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

You come to Gramercy Park Hotel to feel like royalty and stay in an avant-garde jewel box of a palace. The aftertaste of this experience will be decidedly surreal, like you slipped down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland. Do not forget to swing by Rose Bar for a nightcap and Gramercy Terrace for brunch.

Yeah, I think the gilt bar there is a pretty nifty bar, but it's not the ideal place!

Seems like when conceiving this hotel the primary focus was on the bar and lobby, and the rooms were a bit of an afterthought. This hotel is stylish, catering to a fashionable clientele. The rooms a beautifully done, but tiny (about half the size of the W Downtown). The beds are very comfortable, but the water pressure in the shower ...

    The Mercer

    8 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

We had a fantastic dinner at the Mercer hotel. Great rosé wine from Provence, with crispy soft shell crab, truffle pizza and cheery tomato fusilli! So yummy. We ate at the bar (very comfortable) and the barman/ waiter was helpful and nice. Really loved the decor (very underground yet sophisticated NYC).

    Hotel on Rivington

    Class:
    8 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

If you are in town for leisure then stay out of midtown! The Hotel on Rivington (THOR) is located right in the middle of the lower east side, one of the last bastions of typical Manhattan diversity. The restaurant is very good and the rooms have views to die for.

They just did a major remodel of this hotel updating the gym, the reception area, the rooms, the suites, etc. It is right across from Central Park. Note of warning, they have some really small hole in the wall rooms (They also have some gorgeous rooms). If you are paying a lot of money for a room here (which most ...

Bar at the terrace is really nice. Not too loud, just the right volume and there was a great French/Spanish band playing jazz (well, not really jazz but soulful gypsy music, as they describe themselves)

I like this hotel because it is small, cozy and private. I like the location as well. 4 to 5 blocks from Grand Central. The complimentary buffet is great! Skip the over priced Asia de Cuba restaurant...it has seen better days and not worth the money.

With 6 floors of expected small, vintage- style rooms, this hotel has been around for a while. Nowadays it is most recognized by New Yorkers for its club on the 1st floor, which is always a good time. However I would not suggest staying in the hotel simply for entry to this hot spot.

My newest favorite spot to hangout in downtown New York City. Close to Battery Park and the waterfront, the design of the lobby is amazing, and the rooftop bar is even better. Not to many people know of it, so it's great it doesn't get overcrowded.

An almost obnoxiously Italian hotel. The rooftop area is nice but the drinks are expensive and the crowd is almost all Italian. If you want a rooftop bar, I prefer Gallow Green just down the street for better drinks, service, and a view.
