W New York - Union Square

W New York - Union Square

    Hotel Class:
    4
    13 reviews
Very Good! - 83% of guests recommend

Probably the most "down to earth" W in the world...ok, at least in NYC. what i mean by this is the vibe here is actually very pleasant and not clubbily trendy at all. Perhaps it is its location in Union Square which is more hipster and studious, then trendy and glamourous. The rooms are really really big, a departure from ...

The Tribeca grand is totally chi chi. The front desk staff look like they're on there way to a fashion shoot, which they might be: the Grand hosts tons of events for fashion week in the uber stylish restaurant, lobby, and basement theatre. Pets are welcome, in fact, if you're feeling lonely, the Grand will provide a goldfish for you. ...

Not a fan of the overly literal ship design and really not a fan of the weird location in the dodgy part of Chelsea, but I do like the restaurant, which counts for something.

Stayed there the first night they opened. Self check-in, multiple social areas to hang out similar to a W (including a spacious outdoor bar), small but cool rooms with adjustable beds. Fun and vibe and decor (white and purple, sort of spaceship-like).

A great new hotel in an unlikely location, the Nomad is definitely a current hot spot and the restaurant is home to the city's most popular roast chicken. I am giving four stars instead of five because my husband and I both found the famous chicken to be wildly salty and I found my cocktail to be undrinkable, but having ...

You come to Gramercy Park Hotel to feel like royalty and stay in an avant-garde jewel box of a palace. The aftertaste of this experience will be decidedly surreal, like you slipped down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland. Do not forget to swing by Rose Bar for a nightcap and Gramercy Terrace for brunch.

This is a great property. I'm usually a bit skeptical of "trendy" boutique properties as the style usually comes at the expense of good service. This property does a good job of playing it cool while still providing good service. The rooms are small but reasonable by NY standards. The complementary mini-bar is a great amenity. The location could not ...

I've walked past this art deco hotel for years without ever setting foot inside. On a recent work trip to NYC, I stayed here and finally figured out what it's all about. Recently renovated, the beds are super comfortable and the rooms have the same cool art deco feel as the lobby. The location, steps away from the A train ...

While more famous for the Gordon Ramsay restaurant than the hotel itself, the London is a really great option in NYC. The rooms are very large by New York Standards, and comfortably furnished. The location is central - walking distance to Times Square or Central Park. The staff was both friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

If you are in town for leisure then stay out of midtown! The Hotel on Rivington (THOR) is located right in the middle of the lower east side, one of the last bastions of typical Manhattan diversity. The restaurant is very good and the rooms have views to die for.

I like this hotel because it is small, cozy and private. I like the location as well. 4 to 5 blocks from Grand Central. The complimentary buffet is great! Skip the over priced Asia de Cuba restaurant...it has seen better days and not worth the money.
