Instead of bemoaning their small rooms, this hotel has embraced it. The compact rooms are designed and decorated in hip modern fashion. Great for the single traveler or a couple who are okay with not having much personal space. The bathroom and shower, if you have a private one, are cleverly designed to take up a single corner of the ...

Have very, very fond memories of Le Parker Meridien from when I lived here in NYC. Whenever we wanted to splurge on a brunch, we would go to Norma's. Special occasions or not, the food was always yummy. The hotel itself is very modern and beautiful, with super high ceilings which just gives it that special touch. The service is ...

I attended a conference here. It's a busy, upscale hotel and the lobby/conference rooms were spacious. However, I found the temperature regulation was lacking quite a bit - most of the rooms were overheated most of the time. Also for some class sessions, we were crammed into small hotel rooms with large tables in the centre of them instead of ...

I remember really liking their weekend buffet brunch. Ok, so it's super expensive, but they freshly make a ton of stuff, like eggs benedict (my favorite). It also feels super high end like breakfast at Tiffany's (yes I dressed up). The rooftop bar is also great. Nice view, strong drinks, fun company.

Ouch this is so cool it hurts. Grupo Habita which has been making its name with ultra-hip hotels in Mexico ventures north of the border for this Chelsea outpost designed by award-winning architect Enrique Norten. Lots of clean, sleek lines, concrete as an object of beauty and a local landmark, even from the outside. The bar alone is like a ...

It's a fine hotel, but offers little more than fine accommodation and easy access to tourist destinations. The best way I can describe this hotel is to compare it to a nondescript train station. It does it's job wonderfully and efficiently, and at a lower price than other offerings. But it is not, nor should it ever be confused with, ...

A legend, now closed pending re-development and thus a chapter closes on the city's cultural history. I stayed here the first time I ever visited New York back in the 1980s. The colour scheme was best described as nicotine yellow, the accommodations basic and the bathrooms made you feel inclined to skip washing. But where else could you run into ...

Sleek and modern boutique hotel in an up and coming neighborhood downtown. Rooms are of standard New York size, but the dining and entertaining is what makes it stand out. The best hotel I ever stayed in in New York City. Boutique hotel is spelled M-U-S-E. Excellent location, 1 minute walk from Times Square, but you don't notice that when inside the hotel, it is very quite there. I'm harsh on NY hotels as they are usually obscenely priced for no discernible reason.. Except that they are located in NYC. Although I'm not a dan of chains as I find them sterile, the Grand Hyatt is much better than what you'd expect. Clean, well organized, spacious (for NYC) room, with almost a boutique feel (if that's imaginable in ...
