The Waitomo Glowworm Caves are amazing. Descend them on a guided tour and watch the ceiling glow as the guide turns off the torch. After seeing that standing on the ground, get in a boat for a trip on the underground river to see it again. The boat eventually takes you out of the cave.

hello lord of the rings- i've died and come back in froddo's army. Skip Queenstown unless you want the action sports thrill and head due south to the tiny hamlet of Glenorchy. the beauty will blow your mind and confuse your mind as to weather or not you are really living in a dream.

Bit of an adventurer? Your other half won't be expecting you to pop the question on a hiking trip around outstandingly stunning Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand. But the dramatic backdrop of this glistening scenery clashing with the too-blue sky will make for a keepsake photo of the moment unlike any other. And the shimmering ice will complement perfectly ...

Tongariro National Park is New Zealand's oldest national park and a must-do while visiting the North Island. You will find volcanic peaks, emerald lakes, and really amazing views. The Tongariro Crossing is the most popular one-day "tramp" in the country. About 12 miles long, the hike is completely exhausting, but well worth it. Prepare for huge climate variations and prearrange ...

A gorgeous spanse of nature on the South Island - Mt. Cook National Park is home to glaciers and gorgeous terrain carved out by their ancient paths. The whole park is perfect for hikes - day hikes, week hikes, hikes that crest volcanic ridges, and ones that thrust you high up into the frigid atmosphere. It's a hiker's playground, and ...

Great little town. The highlight is to see the Yellow Eyes and Blue penguins. The blue penguins require a reservation and unfortunately no cameras are allowed. You can see dozens of them climb out of the water. The yellow eyed penguins can only be viewed from far away, so bring binoculars or a telephoto camera. They are fairly rare and ...

Great place for wine tasting and relaxing on the North island. Instead of driving, you can actually walk to many wineries from the central town square.

Very quaint small town. I stopped here on the way to Christchurch from Wellington. It had been a long drive, so hot spring was nice and relaxing.

Nothing great to report, nothing poor to report. Its a very easy drive from here to Tutukaka for a few days of diving. There is more to do here, Tutukaka has almost nothing. The Whangarei falls is a beautiful falls, and well worth the hike. I'd recommend doing any hikes around it.

5 hours non stop hike to the glacier, I'm glad I did it... It's a time I felt tiny among the majestic ice... They reflect the most natural colour of blue, unexpectedly cold and slippery.

Love Picton! A small town on the coast, is a gateway to the South Island from Wellington by ferry. As you approach the South Island, you go through Marlborough Sound and Queen Charlotte Sound to name a couple. Gorgeous scenery you'll see on the ferry. One of the most spectacular ferry rides in the world it has been called. I ...
