A find! A very unassuming place on 9W with cycles, motorcycles an Porches out front and fantastic outdoor seating. Great food, halfway between the George Washington Bridge and Nyack. A major stop for the many cyclists on the NYC-Nyack weekend escape, with fantastic food choices ranging from egg sandwiches, cupcakes, ahi tuna, chicken Parmesan sandwiches and avocado salads. Close to ...

The roast duck is so good! Chinese style with baby broccoli. Went there in a heavy rainy day, could not even tell if it was a river or the sea. Enjoyed watching the heavy rain pouring in such dark rainy night. The restaurant is dim too, so perfect for such environment.

Sylvia's in Harlem, with its delicious food and warm hospitality, made me feel so at home when I first moved to New York and, years later, it is still such an important part of my neighborhood. My favorite dish is the chicken livers with Sylvia’s brown gravy.

Wafels & Dinges serves up some of the tastiest waffles in New York thanks to its waffle food truck. I had the Bobby Flay throwdown. It was the waffle Bobby Flay made for a food competition against Wafel & Dinges. He ultimately lost, but Wafel & Dinges graciously included his peanut butter powdered sugar waffle on their menu. I loved ...

YUM! I went here after going on a tour of the Apollo Theater. You may end up waiting for a bit, but Amy Ruth's is well worth the wait. I had the honey-dipped fried chicken with string beans and baked mac and cheese. First of all, they give you a LOT of food, and secondly, it's REALLY GOOD. This is ...

The Darby is bar meets restaurant. Very fun experience where you eat good food (loved the soft shell crabs and the burger) while watching a live band and singer on stage. Try to get a table in the back if you plan on speaking though, as up front it is quite loud.

THE place on the Upper West Side for a slice or three. At Sal and Carmine's, the focus is on a good pie with a crispy crust and the perfect proportion of cheese to sauce. There's nothing fancy here, just quality pizza.

This place brings back the essence of an old school fine dining experience, but somehow keeps it fresh and fun. You've got to love the waiters in tuxedos, the caesar salad prepared table side, and the antique silver dessert trolleys -- they just really nailed it.

Amsterdam Avenue in the 70's and 80's is a great place to eat because it's completely devoid of tourists. This where you'll find Nice-Matin. I ate here a few times when I lived on the Upper West Side, particularly when the weather was warm and we could sit outside on the corner of Amsterdam and 79th. The food here is ...
