    Fashion Island

    60 reviews

This mall is so nice. Very spacious and clean! I love how one part of the mall has lounge chairs and umbrellas for people to hang out while they shop. It can get a bit confusing walking around this mall... Maybe because I'm not too familiar with this place. There's many specialty boutiques and interesting stores here. Unfortunately I think ...

    Crystal Cove State Park

    33 reviews

If you want a sprawling beach and a drink at the Beachcomber, look no further. This state park is sure to please. Even though we have the loveliest beach in Southern CA, Three Arch Bay beach-goers sometimes need a change of scenery!

    Balboa Fun Zone

    28 reviews

If you have kids, for sure a fun place to come. There's a small area with boardwalk games and carnival rides and has that old-timey boardwalk feel. It's nice to stroll around, but if you are an adult there is probably not a lot to do... though you should definitely grab a Balboa bar!

    Corona del Mar State Beach

    20 reviews

There are fire pits and volleyball courts on the beach side. On the channel side, over the rocks, is a bay where the waves are created by passing boats. The kids love to climb on the rocks... but that isn't necessarily safe. Tide pools on the channel side.

    Balboa Island Ferry Inc

    21 reviews

Balboa is the cutest little town on the coast. And the fact that you can take a ferry over is even better. It only costs about $1 and takes only a couple of minutes, but it's fun and gives you an opportunity to take a picture from the water.

    Newport Harbor

    17 reviews

You will see boats, duffy's, paddle boarders and kayaks everywhere you turn. My friends and I love to rent one of the duffy boats and cruise around the harbor drinking wine and eating cheese. It's a really nice harbor with calm waters.

    Balboa Peninsula

    14 reviews

Balboa Peninsula is home to two piers, great restaurants and beaches, plus the Fun Zone (funner for kids). There's also Balboa Bars to taste and take the ferry over to the island to see the famed frozen bananas made famous in Arrested Development (actual stand in show was shot a bit north in Marina del Rey).

    Laguna Coast Wilderness Park

    10 reviews

After hitting the trail, hit the beach!! Go over to Ruby's Shake Shack and treat yourself with a cherry vanilla shake. Such a beautiful trail through the hills of Newport Coast. Definitely a serene route and if you're worried about going solo this trail is usually has a consistent crowd but pretty mellow so you can take in the sights ...

    Davey's Locker Sportfishing

    8 reviews

My favorite place to get out and go deep sea fishing. About a 35-45 minute drive from the house and you can be boarding a boat with all your friends and family out to sea to catch some fish or even shark if the season is right. If you don't have any gear don't worry, they have rod rentals and ...

Much cleaner than Newport Pier!!! Sit on the top deck of Ruby's for a nice view and delicious burgers, shakes and fries! Their clam chowder is surprisingly thick, creamy and delicious!

Balboa Island Museum and Historical Society

    5 reviews

I love little museums like this one! The small, cozy building holds a number of photographs, documents, and models that detail Balboa Island's history. While it's only open a few days a week, there are usually volunteers there who are quite friendly and more than happy to show you key photos or bits of information. They also sell a really ...

    The Wedge

    5 reviews

Really cool spot to see some giant waves and the surfers who ride them. The sand where the waves crash into is pretty steep, so it can create some dangerous conditions -- but that's part of its intrigue. Be safe swimming here!
