    Fashion Island

    58 reviews

One of the best (if not the best) shopping malls in California. Fashion Island is a beautiful outdoor venue. It is located right by Newport Beach and the sunset here is simply stunning every single day. Talking about being spoiled by good South Cal weather. The mall has a good variety of stores. You can find almost any major retailers ...

    Balboa Island

    37 reviews

This is a great place to spend a birthday or an anniversary or anything really! The beach view is beautiful and unlike any other. I would highly recommend renting a bike and biking along the strand as well as taking the ferry across just for the heck of it!

    Crystal Cove State Park

Fantastic trails and makes for a great hike along the mountains. There are paths for all type of hikers as well as bikers and you get a great view of the landscape surrounding southern orange county. Hike from the hills through the forest and back down to the beach for a nice day excursion

I was here a few years ago and it was super chilly, but probably an off day. Nice cafes nearby and a good fishing spot.

This is a place my friends and I would come towards the evening and sit by the fire pits, roast marshmallows and simply hangout. I love this small beach.

    Balboa Peninsula

    14 reviews

Balboa is a great place for the whole family. You have the Balboa Fun Zone (one of my favorite places) with two arcades and ferris wheel. There are shops, restaurants, the pier and bonfire pits. Take the ferry over to Balboa Island too for more restaurants and shops. Get the trademark frozen banana dipped in chocolate.

    Laguna Coast Wilderness Park

    10 reviews

A solid walk through some great wilderness that leads to a wonderful lookout by the Pacific Ocean! Allow three hours for a full ramble. There are insects throughout the hike, mostly bees and ants - they won't bother you if you don't bother them. Parking lot $3 per car, pay by machine. Cash & credit cards accepted.

    Davey's Locker Sportfishing

    8 reviews

My favorite place to get out and go deep sea fishing. About a 35-45 minute drive from the house and you can be boarding a boat with all your friends and family out to sea to catch some fish or even shark if the season is right. If you don't have any gear don't worry, they have rod rentals and ...

Balboa Island Museum and Historical Society

    5 reviews

I love little museums like this one! The small, cozy building holds a number of photographs, documents, and models that detail Balboa Island's history. While it's only open a few days a week, there are usually volunteers there who are quite friendly and more than happy to show you key photos or bits of information. They also sell a really ...

    The Wedge

    4 reviews

The Wedge is a famous surf spot with large surf breaks close to shore. Every summer, swells that begin life off New Zealand, half a world away, finally slam home in North America at the tip of this famous breakwater. As the waves approach shore, they bounce off the jetty's boulders and, in the final seconds before landfall, merge and ...

Duffy Boat Rentals of Newport Beach

    3 reviews

So fun to rent one for a few hours at sunset with a group of friends. Grab a few bottles of wine and some well-paired snacks and you will have a very nice time. The boats aren't huge (maybe 8 people comfortably). You will pass by lots of yachts and if you are lucky see some seals!
