Business travelers with American Express black cards and a knack for shopping will love this hotel. Across the street from this hotel is Fashion Island, an open-air ritzy shopping area with the likes of Louis Vuitton and other high end stores. The beach and an array of boutique shops and restaurants are about 10 minutes away on PCH. Hotel employees were extremely nice and greet you by name, use language like “my pleasure” and it seemed like they went out of their way to open doors and elevators when the opportunity arose. The rooms were spacious and comfortable accented with wood furniture and a flat screen television. There is a resort feel to the hotel with three separate towers, two pools, and a large atrium. There is also a sand pit, wading area and a ping pong table for the kids.Recommended for:

Real luxury hotel. Overlooks the back bay and a golf course. Has all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. There's a Starbucks in the lobby and there's a Spa in the hotel too. The pool and jacuzzi are first rate and there's a place for kids to play outside and a game room for them too. It's right across the street from a shopping center (Fashion Island) with everything you need. When you can afford it, it's one of the best hotels in the area.Recommended for:

Everything you would expect from a 4+ star hotel. I stayed here for a weekend getaway with a few friends when the prices had dropped for a brief period of time. We managed to get a room on the tenth floor, giving us an amazing view of a golf course and the ocean from afar. The staff was helpful, the pool was lovely, the jacuzzi was relaxing, and the bed was heavenly comfortable. It is also great that Fashion Island is not too far from the hotel, making shopping super convenient. The only downside I had for this hotel was the ridiculous price of $20 per night fee for overnight parking. Overall, it was a great experience to have been a guest at this fine hotel. I definitely felt welcomed and well rested.

This hotel can be summed up into one word, luxurious. It’s staffed with accommodating professional employees as any five-star hotel would be. You immediately notice the extremely high level of service as soon as you pull into the valet. Situated on PCH, the hotel affords you access to many beaches such as Crystal Cove State Park, one of the nicest stretches of beach in the area. Directly across from the hotel sits Fashion Island, a premier shopping mall full of high-end boutiques and restaurants that tend to leave little to be desired. Just remember that this area is full of some of Orange County’s wealthiest people meaning your shopping bill may be a bit higher than expected. The rooms were as expected and provided ample area with the beds having the most perfectly pressed sheets I had ever seen.
