Newport Beach is a great place to go enjoy a day of fun in the sun. There is so much to do, see, watch, participate in, and just experience that it makes life a bit more enjoyable.
The beach is several miles long mostly connected with a boardwalk. There are two piers, lots of restaurants, shops, art galleries, tattoo shops, parking, activities, playgrounds, basketball hoops, volleyball games, etc. This makes a very fun family friendly atmostphere. Go and enjoy and spend some fun times.
Perhaps you want to shooby dooby down to Ruby's at the end of the Balboa pier or head over to the fun zone.
There is always somewhere to go and have a drink, hangout, eat an icecream, buy a souvenier, or almost anything else.
Just get there early if you want to have any chance at all of getting a fire pit!Recommended for:

Visit Newport Beach while you're here! Take a "duffy" (electric boat) ride in the Newport Harbor and see the sea lions stretched on in the sun. Pass by beautiful bay-front homes of the affluent residents.
Or go deep-sea fishing for the day (boats leave in the morning and in the evening from the Ferry Landing on the Balboa Peninsula. Watch the surfers from both the Newport Pier and the Balboa Pier. You can walk along the boardwalk (about 1.5 miles long).
Don't miss Marine St. on Balboa Island (take the Ferry from the Balboa Peninsula to Balboa Island or the other way across the Bay). Lots of quaint shops and cafes - Wilma's Café is the local spot for breakfast!
If you're here at Christmas, don't forget to see the amazing, world-famous Christmas Boat Parade!
For shopping, go to Fashion Island at MacArthur/Jamboree and Pacific Coast Highway. Dozens of great stores, boutiques and places to eat.

Newport Beach used to be a prime place to visit for an afternoon/evening at the beach. Unfortunately, it has become so crowded that the last time it took almost an hour to find a parking spot anywhere within walking distance. Be sure to have lots of change for the parking meters because the parking enforcement is VERY present and expensive if you get a ticket!

Ever since I was little, I've always wanted to live at the beach or close to it. For one brief summer, I got my wish. I stayed at a beach house between Seashore and Balboa and it was so much fun. You'd be amazed how wonderful it is to wake up and walk out to the sand or spend an afternoon walking along the shore. Newport Beach is home to some great views, restaurants and people. Come chill with us.
