The NH Amsterdam Centre hotel is very conveniently located in the cross-point between the Vondelpark, Leidseplein party square and the Museum district: making it a great option for a variety of visitors. The service is timely and reliable, like can be expected from the NH hotels. I would recommend upgrading to a Superior room if it’s possible - all the rooms are all similarly equipped, so an upgrade is more a matter of larger room size (the standard rooms might be a little cramped compared to non-Amsterdam accommodation). The NH Centre has a spa in addition to a fitness center, making it the obvious choice among the other NH hotels in the city if you were hoping to squeeze in some pampering time during your visit. The ground floor lounge is always lively and friendly - the perfect place to warm up before a night out. Although there are many dining options in the neighborhood, you don’t have to venture outside for an exceptional experience: the NH Centre’s own Ristorante Sogno has been recognized for its Italian cuisine, which you can enjoy as you look out onto the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam’s center.Recommended for:

Nice, clean hotel, but lacking in some of the special flair I've come to associate with the NH name. The location is exactly what the name implies, but I found the atmosphere to be more business than casual. Regardless, the bar is a cozy place to surf the web with free Wi-Fi and watch the Amsterdam rain fall outside (which is often.) They also get bonus points for their jacuzzi/sauna and massage services - for a price, but makes for a nice afternoon of self-pampering. The golden star, however, is their all-Italian restaurant Sogno - complete with Italiano servers and imported chefs. Buon appetito! Downside: the standard rooms are small (as you will find in many Dutch accommodations); if you can swing it, ask for an upgrade to a superior room on the canal side. It makes quite a difference.Recommended for:

I thought the location was great, pretty centrally placed in Amsterdam without being in the thick of the action. The hotel neighbours the Leidseplein which is basically the fringe of the more active side of Amsterdam so depending on your mood you can head into the middle of the action (red light district and so on) or skirt around for the more cultural side (museums etc).
The Hotel it's self was very nice, I didn't use the restaurant as there is so much choice in Amsterdam but it looked very posh. The room was a good size and in good condition with the biggest bed I've ever slept in, 7 foot wide!
