The best thing about the NJV was its location – right on Syntagma Square, with a view of the hustle and bustle, the changing of the guards, and the Acropolis in the distance. The street level café was perfect for people watching, and the bar upstairs was the epitome of an old English pub, with green leather wingback chairs and wood paneling. The wood paneling continued down the hallways, belying the bright, modern room interior. The marble-lined bathroom was large and the in-room mini-fridge and safe were nice perks. Buffet-style breakfast is included, but you’ll have to pay for your WiFi, and if you want a gym or pool, they can get you a discount at a local club. This is a quality, comfortable hotel, with standard amenities, and a price that reflects it.Recommended for:

Five star service becomes obvious once you enter the reception area. The rooms decor is modern, classy, maybe 50‘s/60’s, very bright and very white! Great open feel and the bathroom is equipped with shampoo, conditioner and soap by APV, fantastic Greek products. There’s a view of Syndagma square and the Acropolis, it’s literally located in the middle of local and tourist areas giving me a feel of being amongst regular Athenian life and touristy vacation life. The restaurant has a very cool city view to Stadiou street and I really liked the Bar, reminded me of an old English Library with dark carved wood and highbacked arm chairs. No pool or gym but the hotel said local gym near by offers them a discount for their guests. I really like the ground floor cafe with big picture windows looking to the corner of Syndagma and Stadiou.Recommended for:

This is a wonderful hotel. I recall when we had asked for a location of cheap great food, we were directed across the plaza and down a dark alley to a venue. We were afraid but ventured forth regardless and found to our delight FANTASTIC GREEK FOOD. I dont know how many orders of the same dishes we ate but it was worth it.
One down side.. not really an issue for me however when my traveling companion took a shower the morning before our flight, she found a condom in the 'freshly folded' towel that was hanging in the bathroom.
I still like that hotel either way.

The location of this hotel is the reason it is getting 3*.
It is in central Athens in Syntagma Square the heart of Athens.
It needs to be renovated and the staff is ok.
It is also over priced and I am being objective on that point.
The hotel has a 5* hotel on each side and quite honestly I would rather pay $100.00 more per nite to have a better experience.Recommended for:
