Do try Nong's Khao Man Gai. I loved it. Simple, flavorful and comforting to eat. It's tender pieces poached chicken on top of rice cooked in chicken broth, served with a delicious soy bean-ginger-garlic-vinegar-chili sauce, and wrapped up in butcher paper, old school style. I ate this dish sitting at a nearby park, as there was no seating. Nong's is just a stand alongside other food stands. A take out kind of place.

Nong's Khao Man Gai represents the best of Portland's food cart scene: a speciality in one dish - chicken and rice - at an affordable price. Nong's has gotten acclaimed reviews and there is frequently a line. However, one taste of the ginger flavored Thai styled chicken and rice, and you'll see why everyone is raving about this particular food cart.

I've been to Singapore and had the famous chicken rice there, and I've had Nong's. I must say both are good in their own aspect but that's not to put down either one. Nong's chicken rice is amazing and to have that within the reaches of Portland rather than going half way around the World is just great. Please also try their Ice Thai Tea, you won't regret it!
