We debated where to stay in Vancouver and decided to change our reservations to North Vancouver late in the trip. It was a great decision. We stayed near Lonsdale Quay and the neighborhood is trendy and eclectic. We look forward to going back

North Vancouver is only a ferry ride away from downtown Vancouver. Locals there call it the aqua bus and it runs every 10-15 minutes. From North Vancouver, you can easily take the buses to the forest parks such as Lynn Canyon.Recommended for:

As a kid I remember adoring North Vancouver, I used to find it so beautiful. Now, going back I was rather dissapointed with North Vancouver itself. Vancouver had cleaned up with the Olympics, yet North Van I feel stayed behind. I was ultimatley very dissapointed with North Van and the only thing I really enjoyed was the Q.
Resteraunts close early in North Van, there isnt many of them which was quite dissapointing. Me and my friend were visiting from Montreal hoping to be able to travel quite cheaply by sky train and bus and what not, the bus wouldnt take us to where we wanted to go so we ended up taking a cab to the nearest 'fine dining' restaurant, the Cactus Club, and the cab ended up being very expensive
Overall, I think North Van peaked in the 90s, and the decline is just tough to see now.
