    Grouse Mountain

    4.5
    19 reviews

On a sunny day, this is a much-go. At the top, they say you have a spectacular view of downtown. The rope-way to the top is very expensive, though ($40, round-trip). You can also hike up. I would have, but I ran out of time.

Free! Nice short hike. Can get slippery when icy like they caution. Still breathtaking views of nature all around. Glad I came here instead of paying for Capilano.

    Lynn Canyon Park

I don't know how this happened, but I inadvertently found myself on the other side of Vancouver and stumbled into Lynn Canyon Park. The admission is free, unlike the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and is terrific for hiking. The Pacific Northwestern landscape also made me feel like I stepped on to the film set of Twilight. You almost think Edward is ...

Within walking distance this market has food, shops, wine and more. Music and restaurants are nearby. Spend some time here before catching the Seabus to more attractions in downtown Vancouver.

Lovely shop which sells not only fresh meats (as the name suggests), but also British-style meat pies and a TON of British imported goodies like teas, candies, chocolates and other packaged goods. Lots of expats make a special trip to this place from other parts of town!

    Cleveland Dam

Nice place to view the mountains. The dam is okay but the hike behind in the forest is better. It's okay to visit if you have time to spare but even if you skip it, you're not missing too much.

Formerly the Wallace Shipyards, the square now has a lovely view of Vancouver's Skyline. In the summer, it's home to the North Shore Night Market on weekends as well.

    Maplewood Farm

My family had a few hours left to spare on a warm Wednesday afternoon. My mom opened her map and saw "Maplewood Farm" - it sounded interesting, so we hoped into our car and headed for Maplewood Farm. Going to the farm was definitely a highlight of my trip to Vancouver. We got there around 1:30 PM (the farm closes ...
