Notre Dame de Paris, French for "Our Lady of Paris". One of the most visited places in Paris, and it's free! If you want to go up to the top for the view, then you will pay a small fee. Inside the cathedral are beautiful stain glass windows and lots of gargoyle figures inside and outside. It is considered the "finest example" of French gothic architecture.

IMPORTANT... DO NOT be scared away by the long lines (like I was originally)! Not only do they move SUPER FAST but it is also free to enter! The experience was much better than anticipated for one of the world's most famous landmarks. They even do free tours throughout the day in different languages. Definitely worth seeing and going into! It was really amaing because the church is 850 years old! Much older than most churches and it looked completely different than in design than it's younger siblings around Europe.Recommended for:

The powerful outlook of Notre Dame de Paris is remarkable. In a bright day, the cathedral is shining bright reflecting the sun. One of the world's best Gothic architecture building, every side is inspiring. Walk around the cathedral to see the structure.Recommended for:

One of the most popular catholic cathedral's in france. Each first friday of the month you can view and kiss the Crown of Thorns of Jesus and the Nails used for his crucifixion. In my recent visit to this church, I noticed the line outside is really very long since visitors are mostly tourists. They will allow you in without lining up if you will attend Mass.Recommended for:

Walking along the Seine...
And I find myself at Notre-Dame.... as much as I would be on the look for Quasimoto, I would probably benefit more if I'd watch my step for tourists, street performers and busy locals alike. The pictures dont do the cathedral justice as actually being their in it's shadow. It's an experience beyond the spiritual. It is a testimony to not only man's religious motivations but to his ingenuity as well.... all before the cell phone... hell before modern electricity or any other creature comforts that one would expect on a 20th century construction site.
Much like the rest of Paris, the rest of the Old Country, albeit the Old World.. it takes my breath away.

The Notre-Dame Cathedral is one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Europe built sometime in the 4th/7th Century. Its framework, sculptures, stained glasses, organs, treasure, and spire among other elements are magnificent features to admire. The in-house concerts are especially vibrant!

The Notre Dame cathedral is interesting for just how gigantic it is in the midst of crowded Paris. A stunning, stunning sight that deserves more space, but is perhaps more surprising for not having it.

Try to go on a Sunday during mass. The Cathedral itself is beautiful but the mass makes it even more enchanting. The singing, the music and the atmosphere created make it totally worthwhile, even if you are not Catholic.
If you can't make it on a Sunday, visit anyway, as it is one of the most inspiring interiors in any church: the organ, the rose windows, the overall architecture. Unfortunately, I couldn't go up to the observatory, but they say it's an incredible experience as well.Recommended for:
