Number 31

31 Leeson Close, Dublin 2, Ireland
3 reviews

This is a beautiful place to stay – both of the hotel’s two buildings and the outdoor patio area are really nicely presented in a very classy, understated way. If you have an interest in modern design and/or architecture you will definitely enjoy staying here, both for its current presentation and for its history. Number 31 is a boutique-style hotel ...

    Science Gallery

    Pearse Street
    0.75 mi from Number 31
    1 review

The Science Gallery hosts exhibitions that function at the intersection between art and science. That's what they say, anyway. Basically, it's a space that takes all the cool parts of science and makes them available for public viewing. I'd imagine they do a lot of field trips. The events are always changing--there's no permanent collection--so you'll never see the same ...

    Octagon Bar

8 Wellington Quay, Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland
    0.98 mi from Number 31
    1 review

Although the rock ‘n roll element doesn't scream out from this sophisticated looking bar, it’s owned by the closest thing to Dublin royalty, the U2 boys. The Octagon bar is as the name suggests: 8 sided and is mirrored by a big ass octagon window directly above, allowing day and night to enter in. They're big on their classic cocktails ...

    The Horseshoe Bar

    27 St Stephens Green
    0.39 mi from Number 31
    1 review

Saloon style cocktail bar in the shape of a horseshoe. It’s probably one of Dublin’s finest (and smallest) bars, and the prices match the classiness. It’s pretty magical in here and if you’re lucky you’ll meet anyone from celebs to politicians. Do drink the Guinness Mojito, it’s pretty famous in these parts (but careful, they can get pretty lethal!)

Probably the best place to go for fresh vegetables. I lived off the produce for a week in graduate school.

Running down the back side of the Temple Bar District of Dublin this is one of the more main roads in the area. It's possible to get some cheap eats here after an evening at the pubs.

Nice pub, conveniently located around the corner of Google. When Paulie's is full, you can eat your take out pizza on the terace with a nice pint.

    George's Street Arcade

    12–15 Castle Market, Dublin, Ireland
    0.72 mi from Number 31
    2 reviews

George's Arcade is a treasure trove of small shops & stalls, contained within a red-bricked Victorian style building. Music, Art bohemian clothes, a mish-mash really that is quite popular, with tourists, students and locals. It certainly makes a change from the high street, and has a slightly Camden feel about it.

Nice but very limited but then again it is free! The building was rather large but much of it was closed off so there wasn't tons of artworks to see. But it was nice none the less, and more manageable than most art galleries and museums.

Welcome to the house of fun with some pretty wild décor, check out the bull dog table lamps, roaring tigers and a larger than life moose hanging overhead. The restaurant and bar is spread over two floors, get yourself to their whisky bar at the back of the building, it’s all sexy lighting and their selection is pretty extensive. Peckish? ...

Ok, so it’s a gastropub (it won best gastropub in Ireland a couple of years ago), but it’s retro cool and it knows how to cook and knows how to make drinks very well indeed. It’s got two late night bars, a private dining room and a really chilled restaurant area with an assortment of cool vintage furniture. Good atmosphere, ...

It’s kinda of a pub, kinda of a club, whatever it is it has a wicked atmosphere and it’s always busy. It’s the sort of place where you end up coming for a quick drink, play some Connect 4 then stay for a few more, then hit the dance floor, then leave… late. The DJs play a pretty wide selection ...

I had read a NY Times article about how Dublin theatre is just as good, if not better than London theatre, but at a lower price and more intimate feel. Was astonished and exuberant to find out that Alan Rickman, Lindsey Duncan and Fiona Shaw were all performing together in an Ibsen play while I was in town. The price ...
