This is a beautiful place to stay – both of the hotel’s two buildings and the outdoor patio area are really nicely presented in a very classy, understated way. If you have an interest in modern design and/or architecture you will definitely enjoy staying here, both for its current presentation and for its history. Number 31 is a boutique-style hotel ...

The inside of this library is gorgeous. More a museum / historical sight than a place to read a book. Absolutely stunning.

It is free entrance. The museum contains the nation's most significant collection of decorative arts, as well as myriad displays devoted to Ireland's social, political and military histories. It doesn't open on Mondays. It is access by Luas tram.

It's rather undeniable that there is no such thing as a local in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. In fact, most Dublin locals will probably tell you there's no such thing as a Dubln local. True or false, I met a "Dublin local" on a train to Dublin and she brought me here, to The Quay's Bar. Located at ...

This is a really quirky little bookstore that shares the same floor space as Freebird Records. It doesn't have a huge collection but it's definitely a lot of fun to browse. I love the zany little objects that appear above the book cases.

This was the family's favorite museum. The exhibits were well laid out. We learned a lot of history. My wife really enjoyed the old jewelry and gold. The kids love the interactive computer exhibits. I thought the viking and medieval stuff was first rate. It made all of us happy, and best of all it was free.

This is by far the most unusual and interesting museum in Dublin. They've got a bit of everything, but the core of the collection is made up of rare religious texts from Asia and the Middle East. Lots of manuscripts on papyrus, hundreds of Korans, early Biblical texts, and so on. The garden outside is a perfect place for a ...

This is the best place in Dublin for a cup of coffee and a book. It's an old library done up into a cafe. The chairs are ancient and threadbare and the books on the shelves look like they'd turn to dust the second you pick them up.

It's basically another historic shopping district, but a v scenic one which connects the area around TCD to St Stephen's Green. Famous for the buskers, but last time I was there I was dismayed to yet another example of how Europe has become standardized these last ten years. Same boutiques everywhere.

Most Dubliners don't know about this public park. It's about five minutes from the beautiful but crowded St. Stephen's Green. On a warm day you'll see people sunbathing and eating lunch on the grass. The last time I was there I noticed that some people will nod knowingly at you, a gesture of the sort you'd expect to see from ...

My American visitors and I had enjoyed the Dublin - Kerry All Ireland semifinal at a north side pub, and they wanted to get some food and enjoy some music at the next stop. Dublin's premier gay bar and dance club-- at least, that's what I was told. From the outside, a stately old building-- definitely not out of place in historic downtown Dublin. I walked past it a couple times, actually, because the building just doesn't look like a club. Step inside, however, and the blinding light of fabulousness overwhelms. When the technicolor ...
