It's wonderfully family friendly with big chain hotels and low tide beaches that are shallow for kids to play in. Nusa Dua is a nice stop on your Bali trip but, please don't spend all of your time here. Make sure you go to Ubud and check out some of the more stunning beaches during your stay.

It's one of the less crowded areas in Bali and is worth exploring - where there are plenty of luxurious villas and hotels. It is hilly and the view is stunning.

I really like Seminyak. Definitely my favorite part of the island this close to Kuta. No doubt, it is well touristed but the restaurants, bars, and hotels here are a bit more classy and it isn't quite the meat market that you'll find in Kuta. A good compromise between a desire for nightlife and infrastructure and the desire to get ...

A Day in Denpasar: Will Meyrick’s top-five must-try Balinese dishes For a different take on seeing Bali through the eyes of a local, Chef Will Meyrick heads to Denpasar’s humble hawkers and street food stalls, locally known as warung, to indulge in a culinary journey of discovery – a world far away from the romantic resort island’s restaurant terraces and ...

Kinda like Waikiki and Boracay, touristy surf part of the island. The beaches are nice but can get crowded. Restaurants and bars line along the beach, and prepare to pay a higher price for food and drinks. Within walking distance there are street markets where you can haggle and buy souvenir type of items and another street is known for ...

This place never fails me - no matter how many times I have visited Uluwatu, I still enjoy the scenery! Visit the kecak dance while you are there and the best time to visit is before sunset (arrive at the place around 4 pm) and walk around the area before joining the Kecak Dance

The beaches around this area is not so great (and may not be swimmable due to strong current) but the rice field view was great. This is also another area in Bali that you can explore and see how the locals live, and if you are lucky, you got to see one of those religious ceremonies.

The beach here is nice and certainly quieter than other parts of the island. That said, it lacks both infrastructure and the charm of other areas -- Jimbaran and Seminyak. Nice enough but somehow fails to differentiate itself vs. other options that either have more natural beauty, culture, or infrastructure.

Legian beach is a quiet(er) beach in Bali, just next to the Kuta Beach. Same beach, same wave, same sand to Kuta but friendlier people and less hustle and bustle of the street vendor. You can rent beach chairs for IDR 35,000 (vendors will open up at IDR 50k) each.

I didn't stay in this island but took a Bali Hai cruises which give you choices to stay either at the pontoon or go to Nusa Lembongan. It is an idyllic small island with white sandy beaches. It offers water sport activities as well, and it is simply worth visiting.

Batubelig used to be a bit of a party beach but all that has been stopped by the authorities and the buildings have been knocked down. I like it simply because it's a little out of the way, quite but not too far from the action. Go to the left and have a meal on the beach, it's just great! ...

I love Ubud. At times, it feels overly touristed but in the right little enclave it can feel like pure heaven. The combination of rice terraces, the Ayung River, and high quality shopping and dining make this a pleasant escape -- foreign enough to entertain but comfortable enough to allow pure relaxation. It may not be the world's deepest cultural ...
