These serviced apartments aren’t just unique because they are housed in an historic 1800s building. They are unique because they offer magnificent views across Darling Harbour. With separate kitchen, fully equipped laundry and spacious lounge and dining, these apartments are a great choice for families. Split-level layout, and built-in storage and wardrobes also give a lot more space than most standard hotel rooms. Some less-than-magnificent aspects however included the scuffed paint on the walls and the constant whistle sound coming through the windows. Besides these small flaws, the long lap pool, spa and gym, and the close proximity to the lightrail and Monorail stations, convention and exhibition centres, make for a very pleasurable stay.

With ENORMOUS one- and two-bedroom suites (yes, there are staircases!) in a super-cool old warehouse building located just west of Darling Harbour, this OAKS property shouldn't be confused with the OAKS Maestri Towers in the city, which are only for long stays of three months or more. And while this hotel is a bit out on the edges of things (unless of course you're doing business at the Syndey Convention Centre, in which case it's perfect), the harbour-side rooms are palatial, with fabulous views. More, for the space and the views, these hotel-apartments are quite good value, though I did wonder at the weird and slightly scuffed paint-job on the walls.

For $181.50 a night, I think it was price worthy of paying because of it's location. It's about 5 minute walk to the harbor & 10 minute taxi ride to the opera house and botanic garden.
The room definitely looks like it has recently been renovated because it looks pretty new on the inside but pretty old on the outside. I stayed in the one bedroom, 8th floor facing the harbor. I can see a little bite of the harbor but not too much. It a little noisy at night because of all the clubs at the harbor and pretty close to the freeway, but it doesn't bother me since it's near the living room not the bedroom. The high ceiling inside the bedroom makes the room feels larger than it actually is. There is a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, plates, and utensils, so it's great for long term stay.
The bathroom is also clean and looks pretty new. It and comes with a washer & dryer. Again, it's great for business travelers who needs a place to feel a little bite like home.
Tip: Make sure you try to request a late check-out (11:00am); otherwise, you'll need to check out at 10:00am which is really early.Recommended for:Business Travelers
