Observatory at Grouse Mountain

6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver, BC V7R 4K9, Canada
1 review

This cozy mountaintop restaurant offers perhaps one of the most spectacular views with your dinner that you will ever have. Perched atop the Grouse Mountain ski resourt just over the water from downtown Vancouver, the Observatory offers just two seatings a night and a limited if beautiful menu. For our Christmas dinner, we enjoyed a fantastic appetizer of confit pork ...

It was the first time I had my head in the clouds - literally! If you're tough enough try hiking up the mountain. Many make it, many don't. For the rest of us, the lift is just fine. At the top there are black bears, zip lining, ski lifts and other interesting things to do. Overall, Grouse Mountain is great ...

Beautiful view on the bridge, and the bridge itself is beautiful too. Everyone should know the history of this bridge, which will make driving on it thrilling. Downside is, the driver won't be able to see the view.

    Cypress Mountain Ski Resort

4.98 mi from Observatory at Grouse Mountain
    11 reviews

The place where I learned to snowboard. The bunny hill I learned on is nice and wide so your chance of hitting someone is not high. At the same time, the green hills are great. For a local hill I recommend it, and the nigh skiing/boarding is great. It's nicely lit so you won't hit anything!

    Lynn Canyon Park

4.26 mi from Observatory at Grouse Mountain
    10 reviews

I don't know how this happened, but I inadvertently found myself on the other side of Vancouver and stumbled into Lynn Canyon Park. The admission is free, unlike the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and is terrific for hiking. The Pacific Northwestern landscape also made me feel like I stepped on to the film set of Twilight. You almost think Edward is ...

    Grouse Grind Trail

1.48 mi from Observatory at Grouse Mountain
    1 review

The Grouse Grind, or "Mother Nature's Stairmaster", is a 3 kilometer march up the face of Grouse Mountain on the edge of town. This trail is challenging to say the least. I was "turned on" to it by a friend that used to live there and it was a M.F. for me. Locally, it's thought of as a badge of ...

    Beaver Lake

4.95 mi from Observatory at Grouse Mountain

While Stanley Park is surrounded by saltwater, don't forget the interior. A stroll around the lake or the lagoon is often less crowded, and the tall trees make this urban park seem quite woodsy.
