Very cool to see these guys running around. there is a place where you can sit across the river from them and watch them hang out and interact with each other. Mesmerizing. There is another little spot where you can interact with them but they are behind an electric fence. Definitely a cool experience if you are around the way. You have to go into the Ol Pajeta Conservancy (and pay the entrance fee) though to see them. Go see Baraka the rhino while you are there too.

I love watching primates interacting with each other in a "natural" setting. This looks like a great set-up and it is supported by Jane Goodall's organization. If I was a captive chimp, this is where I'd like to retire. There's a lot of information about each of the residents and passionate caretakers are there to answer your questions.

Description

Over 40 chimpanzees who were once orphaned or abused call this expansive sanctuary their lifelong home. You can visit these bewitching and surprisingly human creatures and learn about chimps in general as well as many of the residents' personal histories at this inspiring facility, a combined effort of the Jane Goodall Institute, the Kenya Wildlife Service, and the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance. ... read more
Chimps here get to live as much like their wild brothers and sisters as possible and this means you’ll get a fascinating glimpse into non-human ape behavior, not to mention the occasional consequence of one aspect of that behavior: Babies!
