Description

The Old North Church is the oldest standing church in Boston and has a rich history, as well as a stunning physical presentation. The church is most famous for the events of April 18, 1775, when Robert Newman climbed the church steeple and held two lanterns; a signal from Paul Revere that the British were approaching by land rather that by sea. Inside the church are many fine artifacts, including ornate antique chandeliers and a massive organ. The Old North Church has the oldest bells in North America. They were hung in 1745 and still ring with vigor on Saturday mornings.
