Great Irish pub near Greektown area. There are 3 floors, all with different vibes as well as a large outdoor area. The bottom floor has a few bars and a dance floor playing top-40 hits, the 2nd floor usually hosts live bands and is a bit more chill, the top floor is more loud music and dancing. The food is pretty good bar food and this place is always packed. They have a huge bach for St. Patty's and is always packed on game days.

Think Cheers without the attractive hollywood actors. Replace them with more gritty blue collar 40 somethings.
This little old drinking establishment is right in the heart of downtown Detroit. It is 90% Caucasian in patronage and about 85% Fugly in the mirror. They have 6 flat screen TVs and they are only 2 blocks from Ford Field baseball stadium, so you could say this is a sports bar of sorts.
There are a lot of regulars here, with the small clumps of passers thru looking for a different Friday night vibe. They have live music or a DJ most nights, where they clear out the back brick decor room of chairs and tables and make room for some bitchin white boy shaking.
The good thing is that they serve greasy finger food till late, and they have 20 beers on tap, including Stella Artois for the uppity out-of-towners and everything else you can normally want. They have those skinny aluminum Bud cans too.
And, if you miss out on smoking where you drink, don't worry, even the bartenders are puffing while their pouring!
It is mostly a sausage fest, so girls, if you are looking for loud, a little goofy, down home Irish, Greek and a little bit of everything else manhood, half-drunk and ready to party, bring your booty down and shake your tail feather to 80's music. It helps to sing along with Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", some Bon Jovi, and because of the recent news, some Michael Jackson. So "Busta Move" and "We're Halfway there" with "Billy Jean" even though she's not my lover.
Come on down to "the Love Shack" with the Cougs and their suitors at Ye Old Shillelagh!
