Overall I feel like this place was just “meh”. Nice staff and cheap rates, but it has very little character.

I feel like this place needs some updating. Because of the uninspired and plain fabric patterns on the furniture, the Old Town Inn just feels like it could be any motel in the Western part of the United States. But the pool was refreshing, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very nice. Being near Old Town was nice too.

The Old Town Inn is not the prettiest hotel I’ve ever seen, but it’s clean, affordable and has a very friendly and accommodating staff. The location is a little unexpected because it’s in an area that’s feels almost like largely commercial. But what’s great is that you’re just a short walk to Old Town and all the cool history stuff they have there. The Whaley House is awesome! It’s also cool that you can borrow DVD’s and board from the hotel for those nights where you’re too tired to go out. Being on vacation can take a lot out of you. Plus there’s a free breakfast. Overall, it’s not a bad place considering how affordable it is to stay there.

Description

Located near San Diego’s historic Old Town State Park, the Old Town Inn is a good budget option for staying in San Diego. It's proximity to Old town is especially good if you’re a history buff. The location is decidedly not scenic, but it’s right near Interstate 5, so it’s close to many of San Diego’s attractions. There is no restaurant on the property, nor is there a gym, but there is a good sized heated pool and free breakfast in the morning. The Old Town Inn has 73 guest rooms which vary from smaller economy sized rooms built in the 1940’s, to one bedroom suites. It is also a pet friendly hotel. All rooms have free wifi and a 27” tv with free HBO.
