The Old Town Square is the most important square in Stare Mesto (Old Town). In the square you'll find the memorial statue of religious reformer, Jan Hus, who was burned at the stake, numerous historic Churches, the Calendar clock, and the National Gallery.

Wonderful old square with lots of charm. Were there for Christmas markets. Very fun!! Area filled with varied restaurants. Fancy shop street rolls off square.

Prague enjoys one of the larger Old Town Square's in Europe, though not quite as large as the one in Krakow. Pedestrians stream through all day long and the outdoor bars and cafes are a great pace to people watch. The square is lined be several of Prague's distinct churches, which are notable for their multiple spires. The Jan Hus monument, however, was my favorite feature.

Old Town Square is in the heart of the historic district of Prague. The cluster of churches and pastel colored buildings surrounding a wide open square makes it an attraction worth visiting despite the high concentration of tourists.

Two words: street meat. The best part of the Old Town Square is all the delicious, and cheap, food you can get in the square. I recommend the gyros and sweet breads! Not to mention you can get a beer for about $1 and drink it in the square. Awesome.

Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti) has been the heart of Prague for more than a thousand years. The square is congested with sharp architectural contrasts that excite the eye. Take lots of pictures and note the legendary religious figure of Jan Hus, burnt alive in 1413 in the same square, for demanding Catholic masses be held in the local language instead of Latin. I love the square for its dynamic vibe, architectural diversity and presence of exuberant artists and musicians.
