This hotel is very close to Independence Hall. The customer service is why I love this place and it is great for kids. Hit 0 on their phone and they deliver cookies and milk to kids at bed time. It isn't super expensive but gives you a luxurious feeling.

So, as other people have said, this really might actually be the nicest place to stay in Philadelphia. Certainly the nicest in Old City. It has amenities I didn't even know I wanted. More amenities than I know what to do with. And the staff treated me like a VIP the whole way. I actually felt a little guilty. The whole place encourages you to indulge and pamper yourself (I can't believe I'm using the word pamper!) and that's pretty nice when you're footing the bill anyway. The location is great too. Really close to bars and restaurants and movie theaters and all the touristy stuff, but on a quiet(ish) street overlooking a park. If you can afford some indulgence, stay at Omni.

This is an impressive hotel. One of those places where every detail is so perfectly executed you just keep waiting for the catch. The only flaws from my perspective were that it's a little impersonal for what's supposed to be an intimate hotel, and the pool feels more like a extra long bathtub. But overall words like grandeur come to mind when looking at the spacious rooms, marble baths, and dark wood cocktail bar in the lobby. I only got to walk by the spa on the way to the fitness center, but it was all-out--multiple rooms with massage tables and pampering contraptions I’d never seen before. The fitness room is more than decent, too, with enough machines to avoid crowding. My favorite moment was stepping out at night and seeing a horse-drawn carriage go by.

This is the nicest place to stay at in Philadelphia's historic district. It's sits directly across from Federal Park and is a short walk to the Liberty Bell or Society Hill. Although it is a smaller hotel that bills itself as boutique, it feels like a much bigger place and has most of the amenities you'd find at the big downtown locations. The swimming pool is in a weird underground cave, along with the spa, but that's ok. This is one place you should be spending most of your time out and about anyway. Rooms are extremely spacious and lovely.
