My favorite part about this hotel are the attached restaurants (which will deliver to your room, if you're that lazy...) Serafina serves a great plate of pasta and has great outdoor seating on Broadway for a nice day. Redfarm (opening soon in place of Fatty Cue) is also an excellent option, which may forbid you from ever leaving the hotel... The lobby and first level of the hotel are currently undergoing reservations, which aim to make the space look like a modern version of 1920s prohibition era New York. Pictures of the expected changes are displayed at the check-in desk. Families and visitors to Columbia University make up most of the guests here. Unfortunately internet is not free, but there are plenty of coffeeshops and bookstores nearby where you can get online (or pay $14 at the hotel). Be wary of staying on lower floors on weekdays during construction-- it can get pretty noisy! If you're seeking fresh air, head up to the top to the terrace at the of the hotel for some great views and free lemonade or fruit water.

What an adorable hotel! I was really surprised by the design and decor of the rooms. They take the time to come up with some great looking guestrooms. You'll also find artwork from local artists in the area hanging on the walls of the hallways. The rooms feature interesting hardware in the bathroom and oftentimes artwork hanging above the beds. I would definitely take the time to go up to the outdoor terrace on the 14th floor where there is outdoor seating with a view of Manhattan. You can even invite your friends up there. You'll find that there is usually some complimentary lemonade to drink there as well.
Exciting things are happening. They are currently having their lobby renovated to accommodate a bar where there will be a piano and lounge seating. They hope to have renovations finish by July. The staff there suggests calling them instead of booking online so they can tell guests of any upcoming promos they have coming up.

Perfect upper west side location, VERY clean, staff was always helpful and polite, the hotel has a very modern feel to it and the rooms are not as tiny as some other NY hotels I've stayed in and was actually cheaper than most.
I highly recommend and would definitely go back.
