This place was simply amazing. Hands down the best service I've experienced. When we arrived the had a note written just for our 4 year old daughter along with a mini bath robe and mini slippers for her. For the 18 month old boy, the room had a high chair, wooden crib and a diaper genie. Mind you we requested only the roll away crib - suffice to say the attention to detail here is outstanding. Rooms are spacious and well decorated and the balcony had a table for 2 and a large daybed which is perfect for napping to the sound of the ocean. For those traveling with kids they offer a daycare service full of activities at no extra cost. They have two pools - one a family pool and the other an adult pool where you can get free foot massages. On the beach you will find hammocks and cabanas which are great places to lounge. The staff here really go out of their way to make you feel special. Food is pricey but you won't be disappointed. If I could give this place 10 stars I would.Recommended for:

The One & Only is one of the three top hotels in the Cabo area with the other two being Esperanza and Las Ventanas. This one is located in Cabo San Jose, about a 30 minute drive away from what people typically think of Cabo (which would be Cabo San Lucas - typical spring break area).
What I mean by top is that the pictures and service actually match what is depicted on their website. I have been to several other hotels in the Cabo area and they definitely embellish their places online just to trap you when you arrive with terrible service and dirty rooms.
The One & Only Palmilla has very strong staff that nurture you and greet you with a "welcome home" every time they pass. Anything you need, they will take care of. For example, my wife didn't realize she had forgotten her exercise shoes for our honeymoon. Walked over to the clothing store on site; but was informed that they did not carry exercise shoes....however, the staff asked us for my wife's shoe size and certain brands that she wears. She said, tomorrow morning, we will bring over several shoes for you to try on. Keep what you like and leave the rest outside. Sure enough. Along with our breakfast were several options for my wife.
Aside from the service. The pools are amazing. There are two pools there - an adult pool and a family pool. The adult pool is great with its infinity pools and access to cabanas located on the beach. Great place to hang out. But, if you want to take a break from the adults. The family pool was less crowded when we went there and offered more shade.
All other amenities are amazing. Concierge, spa, restaurants. I would say rank very highly.
Restaurants (just like everything else) are on the pricey side. But if this is a special occasion. I would recommend this place. Classic Spanish style architecture inspired vacation.Recommended for:

If you are looking for an utterly luxurious, spoil-me-silly resort experience, stay at Palmilla. Went here for my honeymoon. To say that it's a beautiful place with excellent service is an understatement. The staff here is so awesome and will look out for your every need. They will pamper you with complimentary foot massages and a spritz down at the pool when it gets too hot. You can enjoy use of a complimentary iPad at the pool. Forgot your running shoes? No worries...they took down my size and brand preference and had 3 pairs sent in from town for me to shop and choose in my hotel room. The gym has the best equipment with complimentary water bottles and power bars. They clean the equipment after every use. Suviche restaurant is not worth the price. You can get much better sushi in LA. The main restaurant, Market, was amazingly delicious! It is run by Michelin-rated chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten. I had the pork chop with chipotle and trumpet mushrooms...so tasty.Recommended for:

Went here for drinks and dinner while staying at a nearby villa for a friend's birthday celebration. The bar upstairs is super chic and hip and the restaurant was yummy. Or at least I think it was because by the time we were served dinner, we were all well lit. Not a surprise that this is a favorite spot among celebs...you feel like one just being there (until you get the bill you can't afford).Recommended for:

If you are looking for luxury this is THE place! I can't say enough great things about The Palmilla. The staff is super friendly and they even clean your sunglasses while laying by the pool, spritz your face when you get hot, and bring you an iPod. This place is heaven on earth and still my #1.Recommended for:

I started coming to La Palmilla when it was just a dinky place that the rat pack used to go to. Jose at the sit-in bar, tacos for dinner.
Now it's a place for Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson (I've seen them both there). I once nearly knocked Kurt Russell over in the pool.
Palmilla is wildly expensive (like minium of $850.night), but it is, indeed, magical.
Forget about the big pool, instead head over to the adult-only pool and wade in and out of the water while having drinks brought to your hammock on the beach.
Not a swimming beach -- it's too rocky and lots of jellyfish (got a sting a couple years ago).
Do yourself a favor, put on shoes and walk to the left of the resort down to the public beach and see how locals take in the beach and sand. It's a good perspective.
