Terrific food served, as the name implies, in the dark. And I mean pitch black. The restaurant simulates the experience of being blind. You can look at a menu in a dimly lit entrance way (or you can be brave and order the ambiguous special and "see" what you get), but then your blind wait staff will literally take your hand and lead you past a thick curtain and into the utterly dark dining room. You'll be given an orientation of your table setting, but then you're pretty much on your own to figure out how to cut up steak without looking. It's much harder than it sounds, and we all ended up eating some pretty expensive meals with our fingers. A great, fun, enlightening experience I can't recommend enough. A highlight of the city's dining scene.

What a totally unique dining experience! The idea of this restaurant is that your experience a meal sans vision...completely in the dark. 100% pitch black!
The darkness is meant to heighten your sense of smell and taste, thus providing you with a different kind of meal experience.
Oh - and all the waiters are blind. The creator of the O Noir chain wanted to create employment opportunities for the visually impaired. Love it!
