This is a pretty well run city with some great businesses. I have spent a lot of time here as I have lived next to it and also worked there. Overall it is a place worth going to. Its not the best nor the worst though.
The streets are usually clean and in good repair. They have some key spots here: the Mall of Orange, The Circle, Chapman University, CHOC (childrens hospital of orange county) and most of the rest of the city is standard industrial/residential.
These places are definitely worth checking out. Let alone some pretty good and cheap restaurants. A lot of good taquerias and one of the best bbq joints in OC. Let alone the circle of orange has a ton of independent eateries and small chains.
It also rocks that the parking here is totally free. Living in the SGV and a frequent visitor to LA, that is not always the case so it makes me pretty happy to have that be the case.
My favorite lil surprise about this part of OC is that they have awesome thrift shops and a bunch of them located close together. They also have one of the best used book stores and an awesome used sporting goods shop.
So overall its definitely worth a visit to eat shop and check things out. Perhaps I will see you there =)

Old Town Orange is the place to be in the city of Orange especially during Christmas season. If you're in town around that time, look out for the Orange Tree Lighting Ceremony. They block off all the streets and set up an exquisite Christmas Village for kids and adults that truly capture the timeless feel of Christmas. There are hayrides and apple ciders among other Christmas bake goods and crafts. The feature of the night is an ensemble of 500 carolers and 100 piece orchestra singing Christmas Carols during the tree lighting ceremony. All this nestled among authentic vintage buildings. If you don't feel the Christmas spirit here, you won't feel the Christmas spirit anywhere.
