This is a great area to walk in the city. You will find almost every luxury store you could want. The restaurants are numerous and very good. We also liked to people watch as we strolled at various times up and down the street.

Orchard Road is like a Rodeo drive of Singapore. More than one mile long shopping distract, it got over "20" Shopping Malls, that is insane.

They got just about high-end store you can think of, like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc...
Street is extreme clean here, has a lot do to with very strong fined at those who violated that policy like jaywalking, smoking, throwing trash etc...

Some of the malls are underground and you can walk to another mall by simply walk to the underground tunnel without need to face the humid hot weather outside, which you cannot do in Dubai, they got bigger malls. However, they are not nearby, so you need to hub to a taxi and facing terrible traffics. Singapore you can visit all malls with effortless unlike most other Cities. Not all the malls in Singapore located in Orchard Road, but with train stop nearby, make it easy to jump to other location without spend too much time on it.

Shopping is making extreme easy here, so if you got the money and wanted to be as spend the least time possible, this is no doubt you top destination. Wish more cities followed this route. What I also like many shop working together, so if you do not get you item there, they can easily call up so the other vendor will deliver the item for you without even need to walkout the store!

The shopping street to visit in Singapore. If not for the shopping then for air-conditioned comfort whilst out and about.

This street is one of the most overrated places I have ever seen.
It is all crowded all the time and there is basically nothing here but expensive shopping.
If you are in the market for an expensive hand bag or shoes, sure this is the place for you. But it is not different than any big shopping street in any large city except maybe in the fact that it has less choice then New York, Paris or London.
For any other type of tourist it would recommend staying away. Or it will just eat up your valuable sightseeing time. Instead go to more unique and authentic places in the city. I recommend Joo Chiat for great authentic architecture and food.

Orchard Road is Singapore's shopping ground-zero, and the spot to buy clothes, electronics, shoes or anything else under the sun (though shopping in Sing isn't the bargain it once was!). Otherwise, it's the city centre, clean and well-connected, with good restaurants and plenty of touristas.

Shopping, shopping, shopping! The lights, the glamour, the modernity; oh, how it affects the senses.

Love it or hate it, Orchard Road is Singapore's premier shopping district. The Ion Orchard alone could require a day of your time to fully explore. Thankfully, getting to this street couldn't be easier, as several MRT stations can be found at either ends of this strip.

Keen on shopping and dining in a chic atmosphere? Come here.

The most unique milk tea i've ever tasted. I think you can find this in a lot of places in singapore (it's a chain store). I tried the gong cha black milk tea with pudding.

During my 2 week stay in Singapore, this is where our group stayed. The Hotel was fairly plain by Singapore standards, but I loved every minute of being within this retail and entertainment hub. There's also convenient subway action and I had more legal fun that I probably deserved. The place is also packed with not only people, but shops stacked up, down, back and sideways. Just take your time as you take it all in.

Great for people watching. Overrated for good deals, and mostly taken over by fast fashion chain stores.

THE shopping boulevard in Singapore, Orchard Road is like the Champs-Elysees of Paris, Nathan Road of Hong Kong, and Fifth Avenue of New York.

Perhaps the best shopping street in the world. All brands - luxe and mainstream - plus local goods are available in air-conditioned malls ranging from swanky to tired. Also bars/restaurants, hotels and nightlife. The road (must be over a mile long) as a whole always has some refurbishment or redevelopment going on somewhere which has near term cons but medium term pros.

Place to shop for branded goods! It's very convenient to book your hotel in orchard road if you plan to go mall hopping. Great lights display during Christmas season.

Shopping paradise but meant mainly for the rich. For the midde and lower class, window shopping is interesting. So many shopping malls that your legs will be very tired and need a massage badly.

If you are a shopping fanatic, then Orchard Road is one place you ought to visit in Singapore. But the high end fashions found here are a little too much for the average tourist I think. Still there is nothing wrong with a little window shopping and there is even a sex shop for those so inclined.

SHOPPING MECCA!!! You'll find so many malls and stores on this road. It's really overwhelming! Each shopping center has its own food court too! Thank goodness a lot of the places close at midnight or even 24/7!! For visitors from overseas, take advantage of the tax refund for every 100SGD you spend at each store.
