There's only one word to describe Orchids' Sunday Brunch - AMAZING!
From the service to the food to the view - everything is just fantastic.
Yes, it's a hefty price to pay for brunch (currently $57pp), but in my opinion it is totally worth it.
All-you-can-eat popovers, sashimi, sushi, crepes, salads, fish, desserts, and so much more.

For a lovely upscale dining experience in Waikiki, head to Orchids at Halekulani. I was unable to get reservations for their popular Sunday brunch, so I had breakfast on a weekday instead. There were only a handful of occupied tables out by the oceanfront when I arrived, so we were lucky to get one. The view is beautiful and because the hotel is situated on a quieter part of the beach, there weren't as much foot traffic so it felt more private.
For breakfast. I had their “Island Favorite Breakfast” (Kim Chee Fried Rice with Sunny Side Up Egg and Portuguese Sausage), which came with a bowl of miso soup. The portion was quite hearty, but it was perfect after a late night out.
A really elegant spot to enjoy with someone special!

One of my favorite buffets on the island! Sunday brunch is the best time to go. Highlights of the food: Kalua pig at the carving station, omelet station, poke and sushi, ice cream selection with toppings, and the beautiful view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. Be sure to make reservations in advance, especially for large parties. Resort wear required.

Got all dressed up and spent our last night on the island at Orchid. We had an incredible view from where we sat, it was beach front outdoor fine dining. I kind of expected more from the food there, but the ones that really stood out in my mind as being really tasteful and having great textures were the ahi tuna salad and the oyster shooters. Overall, the experience here was good. One of a kind view and friendly service. 3.5 stars from me!

Beautiful restaurant in a most beautiful hotel! As you enter the hotel, scents of orchids and exotic flower fragrances fill the air. Orchids Restaurant is beautifully decorated with pots of orchids and even in their drinks. The food is exquisite Hawaiian Regional cuisine, using fresh seafood and local ingredients. Sit next to the open air window and you'll be greeted with ocean air and lovely sunsets. A very lovely and romantic place for a special occasion or fine dining, Orchids is sure to please.

We were seated at a great table on the edge of the patio. The ladies ordered the kona lobster and the guys ordered the steak, along with some beautifully presented seafood appetizers, like the kampachi tartare. Wverything we ordered was delicious. I was especially surprised at how well the steak was prepared. I would have never thought to order steak here, but it was so flavorful and the crust on the steak provided a great texture. The steak was not overdone which can happen when a crust is attempted, and was cooked to perfection. The lobster was tender and juicy. Our whole meal lasted about 4 hours, and it seemed to fly by. The service was impeccable and attentive, and the location cannot be beat.

The Sunday Brunch Buffet at Halekulani has been known to locals and visitors for generations as the most stylish spot to revel in the lap of weekend leisure. The setting is al fresco, upscale with spectacular views of the iconic Diamond Head crater and the azure hues of world famous waters at Waikiki Beach. Here the rarified sea breezes are served up with traditional favorites like Eggs Benedict done to absolute perfection or island specialties like their popular and ever so delicate Banana-Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Advance reservations for a table on the lanai is a must.

Orchids is another restaurant in a hotel, and like nearly all the other similarly located eateries, the cuisine here is pretty darn delicious. With a name like "Orchids" the numerous brightly colored flowers decorating the walls and garnishing the dishes here shouldn't surprise you. Whatever time of the day it happens to be when you arrive, you can enjoy a quality meal with a mid-range price tag for the area, but the breakfast and lunch are the main draw for me. The servers are very polite and keep in line with the manners of the entire staff at the luxurious Halekulani hotel in which it is found. As I mentioned before, orchids come as garnish, but they are nutritious, and I personally wouldn't leave one on my plate to be thrown out; even though they are a bit bland.

For those interested in brushing off the sand and dining in style, Orchids (in the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki) serves excellent food before a spectacular ocean view. The 5-star restaurant La Mer is also in this hotel, but Orchids provides excellent food with a more casual dress code (i.e. shorts are allowed).
