    The Mark Spencer

    The Mark Spencer

    Class:
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 85% of guests recommend

This place has a good vibe. The lobby has an espresso machine that's open all day, nice lighting, and a low key feeling about it. The bedding in the rooms is nice, but the rooms do look a little like the apartment studios they were at one time. Right now there are kitchenettes in most of the rooms, but they're ...

    The Heathman Hotel

    The Heathman Hotel

    Class:
    7 reviews
Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

People like The Heathman because it's an independently owned hotel that has a reputation for elegance. The rooms are small with dated head boards for the price, but come with fluffy white towels and some wine and wine glasses. What they're known for is their restaurant, library, and sophisticated common areas. The location near pioneer court house square makes it ...

    Benson Hotel

    Benson Hotel

    Class:
    9 reviews
Excellent! - 85% of guests recommend

Perhaps the best-known hotel in Portland, the historic Benson is an elegant, old-fashioned alternative to the slew of more modern, sterile hotels in downtown Portland. The older part of the building was constructed in 1912 and a second half was seamlessly added on in 1959. Both sides feature similarly priced and appointed rooms, although the older ones are a bit ...

    The Sentinel Hotel

    The Sentinel Hotel

    Class:
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

This might be my favorite hotel in Portland. Those with an interest in art, history, and architecture will love it, also there's a Starbucks right off the lobby and a lot of common area spaces. It used to be called The Governor Hotel but just changed its name in March 2014 to Sentinel in honor of the little guys who ...

    McMenamins Kennedy School

    McMenamins Kennedy School

    Class:
    24 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

This review is for the general grounds, restaurants and auditorium, and not as a hotel guest - I've never been in one of the rooms. The Kennedy School is a neat little place that I often take guests for a quick bite or a movie and a walk around. It's a 1920's schoolhouse that has been converted into a number ...

Lion and the Rose Victorian B&B Inn

Lion and the Rose Victorian B&B Inn

    4 reviews

This gorgeous bed and breakfast was built at the turn of the 20th century as the family home of a wealthy German brewery owner. It was later converted into a boarding house and, then, a B&B, although it still maintains much of its original period elegance. In fact, if you have a thing for Edwardian design, you probably won’t want ...

    McMenamins Crystal Hotel

    McMenamins Crystal Hotel

    2 reviews
Good! - 78% of guests recommend

The recently created Crystal Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Portland. It's nothing fancy (most of the rooms have a small corner sink but share a bathroom), but the decor is amazing, the location is great (it's just a few blocks from Powell's books and in the same complex as the Crystal Ballroom, and the rooms are adorable. ...

    Cherokee Rose Inn

    Cherokee Rose Inn

    4 reviews

Charming, charming, charming! The Cherokee Rose Inn is owned and operated by the very sweet, Sandy Miller. There are two rooms in this self billed vegan B&B and the decor throughout is simply delightful. There rooms are named the Wolf room and the Eagle room and both are large in size and great for families with kids. There is a ...

    Hotel deLuxe

    Hotel deLuxe

    Class:
    6 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Formerly known as the Mallory (and still referred to as such by most Portlanders), the Hotel deLuxe is an excellent bargain just a few blocks from downtown Portland. This old-school hotel was, like much of Portland, built in 1912 and retains much of that early 20th century charm to this day. Since the new management has taken over, they’ve revamped ...

    Ace Hotel Portland

    Ace Hotel Portland

    Class:
    17 reviews
Good! - 76% of guests recommend

I've never actually stayed at the Ace Hotel, although I've wanted to. The place (and its marketing) throws off this neat hip retro vibe that may or may not translate into a comfortable and quiet room. It's also close to Powell's books and is otherwise conveniently walkable to various parts of an already easily accessible Downtown Portland. The Ace Hotel ...

    Allison Inn & Spa

    Allison Inn & Spa

    3 reviews

Nothing was overlooked when building this amazing hotel in the Willamette Valley. The Allison overlooks vineyards. Rooms have welcome snacks, incredibly comfortable beds, gas fireplaces, window seats, and enormous tubs in the bathroom. The spa offers wine-based treatments. Wine tastings and live music are offered in the lounge. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Newberg.

Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station

Aloft Portland Airport at Cascade Station

    Class:
    5 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

You know the feeling you get when a hotel is just trying too hard? That's what the Aloft is in Portland. Pros: close proximity to the airport, cool mod design, lobby-level pool table and bar with live music, 24-hour swimming pool and fitness room. Cons: overrun with kids and dogs, inefficient staff, no bathtubs in the rooms. Amusing to see ...

White Eagle Cafe Hotel & Saloon

White Eagle Cafe Hotel & Saloon

    6 reviews

This McMenamins is set in a North Portland's industrial but up and coming neighborhood, and just down the street from the Widmer Brewery. I came here for a light lunch of Imperial IPA and tasty soup. I didn't check out the Hotel or get a chance to hear live music, but I'll probably be back for one or both. The ...

    The Nines, Portland

    The Nines, Portland

    Class:
    26 reviews
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

the Nines is a glam, chic, sexy, cool (and all other synonyms) type of hotel. I scored an excellent deal on the Nines' website during a sold out weekend for stay one night get the second for 50% off in a city view deluxe corner room, which came out to about $400 total. Prior to arriving, their concierge sent me ...

Best Western Inn At The Meadows Hotel

    Class:
    5 reviews
Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

Of the chain hotels that are near I-5, the expo center, and the airport, this one has the most modern rooms. They have nice lighting, and the soap, shampoo, and conditioner come from dispensers in the wall which is a nice touch. There are 200 channels on TV, free wifi, and a hot tub outside. The staff are friendly and ...

In the heart of Portland’s East Hawthorne street, this eco-friendly hostel is constantly in high-demand for both its location and its excellent rates. It has dorms and priavte rooms with shared bathrooms. Although the rates and the convivial hostel atmosphere are some of the biggest draws of this place, plenty of people seek it out because of its eco-friendliness. The ...

    Embassy Suites Hotel Portland Downtown

    Embassy Suites Hotel Portland Downtown

This is a lovely hotel. One hundred years old this year, the hotel is a reflection of the elegance of a bygone age where architecture matched quality and service. This is not a stuffy hotel, but is light on every floor and in its well appointed rooms and hallways. In fact the quality of light throughout the hotel is first ...

This is a modern, moderately price hotel near Portland International airport. On entering the hotel it looked as if I were entering a café. On asking for directions to the lobby I was informed I had arrived at the front desk! I wouldn’t call this a cozy hotel but it does have the same type of trendy (am I dating ...

    Doubletree Hotel Portland

This is a big bustling, mainly business, Hilton hotel located in the Lloyd Center area of NE Portland close to the Oregon Convention Center, Rose Garden, quite central to the rest of Portland. It is a spacious, modern, not too noisy, very active place to be especially at lunchtime. This is not a cozy hotel, at least at the lobby, ...
