Simply one of the best children's museums anywhere. School age kids love it, and there's stuff to keep mom and dad entertained too. Worth the trip.

    Multnomah Falls

    4.5
    68 reviews

I'm quite the acrophobe but Multnomah is nothing extreme and plenty fun. The waterfall is beautiful and the bridge near the center is a classic place for the gorgeous view. It's a nice place for a short, populated hike and to get a bit of nature. I've been coming here since I was a kid, it's great for family hikes.

The biggest bookstore I have ever seen. This has got to be the coolest bookstore that has everything you want, need, and more. Even just taking a look around this bookstore will get you satisfied. If you ever get a chance to come to Portland, be sure to check this place out. Cheers!

    Drake Park and Mirror Pond

    40 reviews

This IS a very nice park. Gayle and I walked it the afternoon we arrived in Bend and the next morning before we headed North. In the meantime, I tipped a bottle of Deschutes Mirror Pond in its honour. The park is a welcome and peaceful sanctuary ying to the Downtown Business District yang. We particularly enjoyed the pond (or ...

    Portland Saturday Market

    4
    37 reviews

Portland Saturday Market is always fun to explore on the weekends on the waterfront. You can find food, little trinkets, clothes, jewelry, and almost everything else. You'll see a lot of hipsters around but it's Portland, of course. It's a fun place to hang out and people-watch too! Things aren't always cheap, but it's fun to "window-shop."

One of the biggest innercity parks in the country, Forest Park encompasses miles of woodland trails, and is super popular with hikers and joggers. The most popular trail here is the Wildwood Trail, which is around 30 miles long and connects Forest Park to the adjacent Washington Park (where you'll find the zoo, the Rose Garden, the Children's Museum, and ...

One of the many natural wonderlands inside Portland's city limits, this gorgeous, tranquil park is a network of five different styles of Japanese garden, including a zen rock garden and a tea house. You could easily spend an entire afternoon walking, sitting, and drinking tea here, or make a day of it and visit the other sites nearby, including the ...

    Multnomah Falls Nature Center

    5
    12 reviews

The last stop on our Columbia Gorge driving trip was the Big Show at Multnomah Falls. I wanted to see (and hike) more, but my teenage son had hit the wall, and tourist life has ceased to be fun. If he would have had his way, we would have stopped quickly at the nearby I-84 rest stop, taken a quick ...

    Oregon Zoo

    4.5
    40 reviews

It's a beautiful zoo with lots of exhibits and places to venture. It's always pleasantly crowded, so it's not insanely packed nor empty. I really enjoyed the aquariums and polar bear exhibit, and there's a large park area for picnics and enjoying the sun. For food, I had my first elephant ears here (deep-fried dough with cinnamon and sugar) and ...
