The Convention Center is 3.5. It's just in a slightly awkward place, I mean it's pretty close to downtown, but really the river is what makes this place a 3.5 instead of a 5. Getting there can be a nightmare if you don't use public transportation.

Good quality at great prices! Sushi trains can often get expensive quickly but in this place nothing was more than $3 and most dishes were only $1 or $1.50. Even at those prices the fish seemed to be quite good quality. The salmon was buttery and the spicy tuna was very flavorful. And if you don't see what you want ...Popular withTrendstersBudgetFoodies

If you have never had Middle Eastern food before and are not quite sure what to order this would be a great place to start. Habibi's had incredibly affordable happy hour selections that are served all day. The wait staff were all very nice and incredibly helpful with explaining the options on the menu. The happy hour menu allows you ...Popular withTrendstersBudgetLocal

Just off Portland's "vegan minimall," the Red and Black is a cooperatively run anarchist cafe offering a completely vegan menu. The most famous dish here is the peanut sauce infused dragon noodles, although my personal favorite is the Nihilist Cheesteak, a super-filling tempeh and fake cheese sandwich. They also serve beer and kombucha on tap. They also host regular events, ...Popular withVegetarianLocalLGBT

I only found out about Spella through a former co-worker. Spella Cafe is a little hole in the wall cafe. There's no seating in Spella, so you're only there to specifically order and get your coffee. Nevertheless, their iced coffee is excellent and puts Starbucks to shame.Popular withLocal

This is the kind of place heart attacks are made of. And I mean that in the best way possible! So what is a vegetarian doing at a burger joint? Having a veggie burger of course. And that burger just happens to be between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It's like 3 sandwiches in one, which means it was the perfect ...

Kincaids is located within the old Multnomah Hotel (Embassy Suites). It's easily accessible off the lobby or outside on 3rd Street. The restaurant is on the large side, with lots of comfortable seating options, intimate lighting, and nice dark woods. Gayle, her sister, and I came the first time for drinks, of which they proclaimed the Bloody Marys to be ...

If you've ever considered trying a vegan diet Portland is quite possibly the easiest place to get started. the vegan options in this city are incredible! Sonny Bowl is an entirely vegan food cart. Their options are so flavorful you're likely to find yourself saying "I can't believe this is vegan!" Even avid meat eaters should give this food a ...Popular withWellnessLocalBudget

Chai Yo Thai is a cozy little restaurant nestled inside an old wood house in the comfy Broadway district of Portland. They use fresh ingredients and no MSG. It has been here about 7 years, and it is a great find. You walk up stairs to the porch of this little restaurant in the house, and on warm days sit ...

Having sampled a variety of Ethiopian restaurants in the Northwest and especially D.C., I can say I've got a modest understanding of the food. As a daring meat eater, I've even had Kit Fo (basically raw hamburger hot spiced to hell so you forget you're eating RAW HAMBURGER) a couple of times and have survived. I've been to this restaurant ...Popular withVegetarian

CLOSED. I needed to find a job in Portland because my money was running out, so finally opened the Oregonian and found an on-call job available from Mental Health Services West at a place called Bridgeview. I went in and Frank encouraged me to fill out the application right away despite my long hair and unkempt appearance. The Howling Frog ...

I love several aspects of Portland's Food Cart culture. One is the wide variety of interesting food and another is clever name. And since, I love my IPAs, the Hoppy Camper drew me in for a look and a "wee pint". There's also a handful of other trailers on this block of Alberta that serve food, so there's no need ...Popular withBusinessFamiliesBudget
