The Convention Center is 3.5. It's just in a slightly awkward place, I mean it's pretty close to downtown, but really the river is what makes this place a 3.5 instead of a 5. Getting there can be a nightmare if you don't use public transportation.

I attended a Convention here last week and had a nice time with professional friends, various presentations and exhibits, and the roomy, well-lit, and eco-friendly facilities. The OCC did a good job of accommodating our needs and welcoming us to the Rose City. It's also a big plus that the facility is close to Downtown and TriMet accessible. That led me to go to interesting places to eat "Off Campus" during Lunch. At the same time, I really appreciated that various concessions (including a couple of Starbucks) were open inside the building.
On the downside, it's easy to get lost and circle around in this cavernous facility. The upside of that was the people watching, the various art to admire, and that cool pendulum swinging overhead. The other thing to watch for is traffic if you choose to get off the Max at the Rose Quarter stop. There's a highway off ramp right in front of you as you take the crosswalk and I didn't trust the arrangement.
