Assuming you're looking for a place to sleep/rest when you're not otherwise working, this is the place. The room (room 229) was clean, well-appointed, and had good WIFI. The most impressive thing was how quiet it was - considering its closeness to both a major Portland street (82nd Avenue) and a freeway (I-84). And the air-conditioning was absolutely Heaven. I ...

I reserved this Holiday Inn Express at $90 per night (plus Tax) via http://Booking.com. My son and I stayed here over last weekend and had a very nice time. Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and the free hot breakfasts were generous and tasty. The Hotel is conveniently located off I-5 shares ...

The staff here are nice and the hotel is close to the airport and this is one of the cheaper airport hotels, but the building is not particularly nice and either are the rooms. All the hotels around here are chain hotels with few sidewalks or access to public transportation or food outside of the hotel restaurants. I'd rather stay ...

The Clarion is probably my least favorite of the many Portland airport hotels I've had the pleasure of touring. The two front desk staff I encountered were aloof (to put it nicely--cold would be a more appropriate word), and seemed like they either really hated their jobs or were just having a really bad day. The place is run-down and ...

The Super 8 is probably the cheapest motel in the immediate vicinity of the Portland Airport. It's a cheap motel and they don't pretend to be anything but, which I respect. There's no pool or fitness facilities, but there is a shuttle to the airport. Some rooms are smoking and/or pet-friendly. Wi-Fi access and breakfast are included. For a little ...

This hotel is right on Powell, a busy street with a lot of fast food and bus/bus commuter action. They have weekly and monthly rates for people and families in residential transition. Most of the budget hotels in SE or NE do end up housing homeless guests for short and long term stays. The staff are helpful and the rooms ...

Very cheap, but not my first choice. This is in Gresham, close to the Gorge, but not exactly nice enough to be a tourist destination. If I was trying to see the The Gorge, I'd try to stay at Mcminniman's Edgfield. Even if you stay here, the brewery and hotel, Mcminniman's Edgfield, isn't far away and they have gardens and ...

Set at a very busy intersection of NE Columbia/Martin Luther King Blvd. (MLK), this motel is a little better than expected. Although the motel name is enough to bore you to death, the motel does offer the basic comforts for a reasonably quick stay. It is much and much the same as most of the better budget motels but it ...

With weekly rates at $300 and nightly at $70 (that's what the owner told me) this feels more like transitional housing than a tourist hotel. It was full when I was there, and I doubt guests were there just to visit the Grotto across the street; it seemed more like they were living there. There is good food around here, ...

This Springhill Suites is about what you might expect from the brand. It is on the lower end of the portfolio of brands carried by Marriott's. This one is fairly new, but besides that, it is unremarkable. I paid $139 rate, but for often the same rate, the Embassy Suites at PDX is a much better choice, with a better ...
