We stopped in here after a rain shortened geological day out in the San Juan Rift. The Organic Peddler on the Edge does exist beyond the space-time continuum. And after spending a fair share of my life in Berkeley, Arcada, and Portland, it's been a long time since I've frequented a "Hippie Shack".
Wandering around this place is half the fun. Except for the back Cafe section, the store is a converted house. Every available space seems to be stuffed with stuff. Even the middle bathroom offers you a choice of browsing or seeking relief. Walk into the Kitchen and you'll find the freezer full and the an interesting sink-side selection. You can buy organic and/or gluten free groceries, some nice ceramics, jewelry, and other tchotchkes that initially defy description.
The folks here were genuine and friendly and were happy to explain some of this store's mysteries. The Organic Peddler on the Edge is definitely worth a stop and some unique retail fun.

Great place to stop and fuel up. Tasty sandwitches, wraps and salads. Something for everyone and all organic. Great coffee, chai and smoothies. You cna stretch your legs while you shop arts and crafts and stock up on more goodies for the road, They have a few rooms for rent but we never ended up staying.
