both these parks are incredible places to observe and feel the power of nature. one of the best trips ever... hope it was not too cold. It is cold here in Cali .. so I am guessing a heater is a helpful friend at night -:)

All the hikes are great, my favorite is Observation point. It is about 4 miles takes you from the floor of the canyon through narrows snaking to an overlook. Really memorable. Angels Landing is also good but the end has the fin and chain thing going on and people fall off periodically so I wouldn't try if there is snow/ice.

Check the weather. It is starting to snow there, so hiking in a river will probably be out of the question.

If you're into photography, that's a must. Even with a standard pocket camera, you'll get photos that look like the images you see here :-) Really beautiful and unique.Having said that, the place is ... read more

If you're in the area, that a nice place to add to your trip plans. I would recommend it if you're into photography.

The Lodge is right in the park which is pretty cool, rooms are nice not too bad in the off season. reservations are hard to get in high season. There is a restaurant on site which actually for "park ... read more

Springdale has good options and is easy access as it sits at the west entrance, Kanab is also a good option but is a little further at 40 miles

I was there many years ago but definitely do the Angels Landing hike but if you're scared of heights, there is a narrow ledge at the top you need to walk across with dropoffs to the left and right but there are chains to hold onto.
