I've spent a large part of my life in London and thought I knew a lot. Having been on several of these walks I realised that I didn't. I found them really interesting and educational.

These guys have a tour for everyone...but for kids the Harry Potter Walking tour is a must. Even if you don't love Harry Potter, this walk takes you though some really interesting parts of London and gives the kids a bit of insight as to how films are made. If your kids are a bit older..heading into the teens, they might enjoy the Jack the Ripper Tour. The Hampstead Tour is also a special tour..taking you down the side alleys and back roads of a magical residential area in North London. Young kids might find this a bit boring though. Check online and find out what their current tour schedule is. They really do a fantastic job. Knowledgeable and friendly.

Loved the variety of options and knowledge that was given on the walking tours I took. When in London went on several different tours that provided more colorful history then going through a museum would have provided. Would highly recommend anyone going to London to slot one of the many tours offered each day into their schedule.

If you're into history, and knowing about the history of the place you're visiting, the Original London Walks can be great. It all depends on the guide. The best one I went on was a Jack the Ripper walk, given by Jack the Ripper expert, Donald Rumbelow (he signed my copy of his book too!). There are plenty of literary and historical walks, but that was the best one, in terms of the guide thoroughly knowing his subject.

The London Walks are a great way to get to know the city and its history. The walks are lead by true experts (often with a theatrical leaning). They are a great way to see the history all around you that you might otherwise miss. You don't need to book ahead, just show up at the designated spot. In particular I loved the Hampstead Walk - which meets near the Hampstead Tube station on weekend mornings. Hampstead used to be a Victorian Spa town on the hills above London and has a fascinating history and beautiful architecture - a great way to get a taste of old London.

The London Walks are totally worth it. They're a great way to see London and get a bit of exercise while you're at it. The guides are always funny and personable, and the varitey of walks is truly amazing. I wish I had more time in London to do all of the walks I wanted to do. Definitely worth the investment, and if you do more than one walk, sign up for the discount pass.

whatever you may be interested in, you'll certainly find some walk interesting enough to give you a thrill or to encourage you to turn to a book to find out more about your hero. Some prefer the Jack the Ripper walk, other Shakespeare or Charles Dickens, even the Beatles on Tour or James Bond, there is a variety of secrets covered inside the buildings or high above your head.

This walking company covers just about any interest in London. The guides are always excellent and sometimes outstanding in their ability to entertain throughout the two-hour tours. The stories they tell reveal new layers of London that, in my view, make a visit the the city more memorable. Personal favorites are "Jack the Ripper Haunts," "Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness," "Somewhere Else London," and, in part for the name alone, "Bloody, Flaming, Poxy London" about the London of Christopher Wren.

London is filled with endless nooks and crannies that even a native Londoner doesn't know about. The walking tours are a way to get to know about these hidden gems. The kids will love the Harry Potter walking tour or the Royal Wedding route. Personally, my two favourite tours are the Hampstead Tour (see the "captain's house" from Mary Poppins) and the Inns of Court tour. The older kids might enjoy the Jack the Ripper tour.

London was the first place i've ever taken guided walk tours, and i completely fell in love with the concept. I took 5 or 6 of those in the span of 4 days, and enjoyed every moment, wish i found out about them sooner. Ever since, anywhere i go where there are such walks i take them. i especially loved the 'old pubs' walk, which takes you (among others) to a pub bearing the following inscription over its door frame: "rebuilt 1666". i mean, how cool is that?! apparently it was the first building to have been re-built after the huge fire of 1666 that completely devastated London... those people had their priorities straight!

Description

Trod through the history rich streets of London with the city's oldest walking tour company. Each walk takes about two hours, and among their choices of tours are Shakespeare's London, London's Secret Village, Pub Crawls, Winnie the Pooh's England and the Harry Potter Walk, just to name a few. The London Panorama also includes a boat ride, and custom and seasonal walks are also available, one the best being Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol Walk. Each walk takes about two hours. You do not need to book a tour, just show up! A walk costs £8 (£6 for ages 65+).
