Pom Pom's Tea House & Sandwicheria

How do you press and cut a sandwich so crisply that it doesn’t fall apart while you are eating it? There are many great mysteries like this at Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria. The quirky specialties are right at home with the décor, which shows off some very groovy artwork. The open kitchen and cozy atmosphere make it feel like ...

    Gringos Locos

    4 reviews

I have to admit that I dragged my heels a bit when my friends suggested Gringos Locos after a night downtown, purely because I am pretty settled in to my teenaged Mexican food habits – Taco Bell for a cheap snack, Chipotle for a solid meal, Garibaldi for a treat. But Gringos Locos totally changed my routine. The relatively new ...

    Drunken Monkey Coffee Bar

    2 reviews

Think college dorm meets aromatic coffee shop. You can sit at one of the small tables outside, or you can relax at a high-topped table or in the comfy lounge area inside. Browse the band and local events flyers while you're at it — they're everywhere. The food is delicious, as is the coffee. I recommend a simple vanilla latte.

    Redlight Redlight

    3 reviews

Redlight Redlight is a beer parlour located in the trendy Corrine Drive area just east of the Mills50 district. Here, you can sip on (and learn about!) a long list of draught and bottled beers. They have wine, too, in case you're not a beer drinker but love the vintage, craftsman-style bar vibe anyway.

Lazy Moon Pizza -- NEW LOCATION

    2 reviews

Putting humongous slices of pizza right between two major colleges is a mighty fine idea. The new Lazy Moon is way bigger than the old location and very mod. Not only is it decked out with sleek photo collages, but they also have living plant murals on the walls, nurtured through an automatic irrigation system. To contrast the tranquil décor, ...

    Independent Bar

I-Bar is not your ordinary downtown spot. It is four independent bars combined, and each has a distinct atmosphere to it. The whole building is very urban and labyrinthine so you never get bored wandering around. The music here is top-notch. They play a lot of alternative music that you would never normally catch in a club, which presents the ...

Awesome views of the Magic Kingdom! Definitely get a fireworks reservation--if you can't, you can always return to the observation deck for viewing after your reservation.

Exceptionally good wine bar serving more than 100 wines by the glass. Also has a nice selection of cheeses.

    BB King's Blues Club

Hung out here on New Year's Eve and it was a blast. They had a live band playing on stage and lots of room to hang out. The place is big so there can be a lot going on at the same time. I don't like a lot of places in downtown Orlando, but this one has some soul.

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar

The closest restaurant to our house, this sports bar is a great stop for sports fans and wing lovers alike. The kids will love the interactive electronics they provide the guests with.

    House of Blues

    18 reviews

This is my favorite venue to see bands. This upcoming April they are hosting Taking Back Sunday and The Used. It's easy to find their concert lineup online. Since it's at Disney walk you can walk around to the other shops or dine at the restaurants before or after the shows. Sometimes Disney does fireworks over the water. Located towards ...

    Luma on Park

    3 reviews

Solid Italian spot. A bit big for its britches but the outdoor tables are pleasant and, overall, the place has a good vibe even if the food doesn't quite live up to the price points (which are high for Orlando).

    Cheesecake Factory

One of my favorites restaurants in US due the extension of its menu, quality of food, service and prices. In Orlando the Cheesecake Factory is located at Mall at Millennia. On high season sometimes it takes over 2 hours waiting. My favorite options on the menu are the Pasta da Vinci and for dessert Godiva's Chocolate Cheesecake ... Yummy!

    Cinderella's Castle

    16 reviews

How can you not love the castle? And as long as a show is not going on or about to start, you can walk through the main hallway. You can also reserve a table for breakfast with the characters and princesses, but it'll cost a pretty penny

    The Ravenous Pig

    7 reviews

The Ravenous Pig is a unique gastropub with an excellent menu that revolves specifically around seasonal, Florida-produced ingredients. And the warm, ambient atmosphere is just as impressive as the delicious food. Whatever entree you decide on, be sure not to skip the salad course — you'll be hard-pressed to find a tastier or fresher one for miles around

Kobe Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

    4 reviews

A couple of different visits and a couple of different experiences. The difference is in the chefs. I realize that this is a demanding job. But the second visit was almost shocking. The chef was humorless. I at least expected some kind of flair. He was utilitarian and efficient. Still, it felt like it was an inconvenience.

    4 Rivers Smokehouse

4 Rivers is one of our proudest local spots, with mouthwatering barbecue that is out of this world. The patio area features overhead misting fans to keep you cool in the Florida heat, and the picnic-style seating has the feel of a big, happy family reunion. Top off your meal with some of the one-of-a-kind specialties like the deep-fried Oreos ...

    Biergarten (German Pavilion)

    10 reviews

This is one of those overlooked gems in World Showcase at EPCOT. It's the easiest place to score a reservation since it's so huge! The food is, shall we say, less than authentically German, but no matter. It's tasty and it's an all you can eat buffet so even the hungriest in your party will be able to fill their ...
