Ortakoy is a small Bosphorus-side neighborhood at the foot of the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul. A 20 minute walk from Besiktas will bring you to Ortakoy where you will find a handsome baroque Ottoman mosque and many fish restaurants along the shore. Farther on, between Ortakoy and Arnavutkoy you will find some of the swankiest clubs in Istanbul.Recommended for:

Love this place!!! Ortaköy was a cosmopolitan area during the Ottoman era and the first decades of the Turkish Republic, with communities of Turks,Greeks, Armenians and Jews. Today the neighbourhood still hosts many different religious (Muslim, Jewish, Orthodox, and other Christian) structures. It is also a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, with its art galleries, night clubs, cafés, bars, and restaurants.

Lovely area to walk around .. Pleanty of nice and cosy cafe's and restaurants .. Tens of kiosks selling accessories and traditional stuff .. Stop to eat the famous baked potato topped with your choice of salads or pickles.. Don't be hesitant to try all the toppings.. It's certainly worth it :D irresistible give me some more !
