Osha may not be 100% authentic, but it's a lovely space with tasty food. While it costs a bit more than a modest Thai restaurant, it's also more elegant. This is especially true at Osha's Embarcadero Center location. I think it's the nicest, as it sits right across the Ferry Building at Justin Herman Plaza.
The Pad Thai is always good, and I enjoyed the mango rice dessert. There's not much room for error here. Everything is tasty.

One of my favorite Thai restaurant chains. All of their locations have a little different vibe and design, and the food is exquisitely delicious! There's always a good crowd here for dinner. The food is so flavorful and entrees plated with care. Always a great place for food and atmosphere.

I've eaten at a number of Osha's SF locations, but like this one the best. There's ample seating in an ornately decorated and spacious room. Considering its location right across the street from the Ferry Building, food is pretty reasonably priced (around $12 for most meals) with everything from Thai staples like pad thai to some quirky fusion experiments. I find myself returning every few months since the food is tasty and it's an ideal spot to meet up for many occasions.

Osha Thai is very good simple Thai food served on a very expensive plate.
When you are craving Thai while at work and can't get to a cheaper, more dingy place, this does wonderfully. It's definitely expensive ~ I had a Thai ice tea and a basil beef dish and walked out with $14 less than I had when I walked in. Anywhere else that meal would have/should have been $8 - $10 with left overs.
But they are conveniently located on the Embarcadero and the rent must mean they have to charge extra.
The food is great and the ambiance nice, plus it would be a reasonably priced meal if it was a client lunch...

The address is actually 4 Embarcadero. Be aware, this location is confusing! The main restaurant's entrance is on Embarcadero and has a grand dining area and full bar. A few businesses down is the lounge. The lounge entrance is on Sacramento St and is a smaller restaurant featuring a full bar, lounge, and 2 private dining areas. I got confused and dined at the lounge, which was still a fabulous experience.
Happy hour is available M-F 3-8pm and Sat 5:30-11:30pm at the lounge. Great drink specials. For food, it's just thai-tapas for $6 (didn't try). I got the volcano beef and pad see you-two of the most popular dishes. They are also know for the pineapple fried rice, pumpkin curry chicken and pad thai. Entrees are average priced. Been to a few locations in SF, there's 7.5 total. The .5 is the new grab & go in Union Square. Service is fab too, the waitress was super sweet.

This OSHA Thai seems to be the priciest of the chain due to its location. If you score an outdoor table on a sunny day, esp during happy hour, you can enjoy palatable dishes with white wine in the sun amid plants and facing Justin Hermann Plaza. The outdoor availability is my favorite aspect here.
