The powerful smell that pervaded the neighbourhood and the many market stalls covered in colourful materials almost made us think to have reached the wrong destination, because this building looks like anything but a hostel. The multicultural clientele, though, was really helpful when we had difficulties finding the entrance. Inside, the place was exactly what we expected from an hostel, only cleaner and quieter than any other similar place we have ever seen. The double room, for example, was basic, but clean and the bathroom was spotless as well. The place is in a big public park, probably the only facility in Milan swathed in greenery, where festivals and events take place during the whole summer. Right in front of it there is the Jodok Restaurant and Bar, where people and tastes from different part of the world meet at every meal.

I know this is a hostel and not a hotel – and hence my expectations about it were much lower since the very beginning – but this place is simply terrible. Immersed in an unkempt park where I would rather not walk by myself and wrapped in a disgusting and undefined stench, it did not present itself very well at all. Inside, it was cleaner than expected, but still I would have rather slept in my car than in a place like that, where I did not feel safe at all. The neighbourhood was not particularly nice as well with people who did not seem to have nothing better to do all day than walking around the park and shoot us dirty looks. I would never go there, not even if it were the last place on Earth.
