    Parliament Hill

    26 reviews

If you're into government (as an academic pursuit) or really cool architecture, this is a great place to enjoy both in Ottowa. The Canadian system of government has always fascinated me (as an American), so it was actually really neat to wander around this square and soak up the current political climate, as well as the awesome history of this ...

    ByWard Market

    12 reviews

ByWard Market is the tourist trap hangout spot in Ottawa. This place has tens of restaurants, shopping, and outdoor things to buy, from maple syrup to clothing and everything in between. If the rest of Ottawa is fairly dead, this area is somewhat alive. Check it out.

    National Gallery of Canada

    12 reviews

This is probably Canada's best art gallery. The collection is strong on Canadian artists and has some major Modern and contemporary works. Otherwise, it is pretty modest in its holdings. Unfortunately, it does not compare with the best museums in the United States which are older, bigger and have had more generous patrons.

    Notre Dame Basilica

    6 reviews

Very nice architecture. There are times when you are not allowed to visit inside and you might see some weddings over there. Located right in the heart of the tourist district, the church is beautiful on the inside. I think I like the Basilica in Montreal/Quebec City more though.
